It Came from San Diego: 3 in one is not the best way to go!

Special thanks to TGR for this SDCC Vykron (signed by 2 of the 4 Horsemen)
Special thanks to USPS for playing soccer with my package and pretty much ruining the specialness of this prize.

Damn you USPS for screwing up my box... on the other hand, if they hadn't I would've kept him MOC and the review would have been a lot shorter or based on the comic it came with!
This will be the first review from a very special mini series of SDCC Swag that I won on TGR's last contest... Since the package is pretty beat up I've decided to open him. (I'm framing the package though... I would have kept him MOC if it wasn't for the irresponsible mailmen and their dogs) It looks OK on the Front, but the back is very messed up! So it's not MOC if the card is screwed up!

Out of all 3 forms this one is my favorite!!

What's a Vykron you ask?
Click on the link and I ramble a bit about his origin!
Well According to Mattel's MOTUC Canon he's a Gladiator!

and he participated in Gladiatorial games

He also played dress-up for his entrances...

Like Ric Flair... Now my Vykron's got a new catchphrase... WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
He was the Arena Champion until he was challeneged by a Lemon-Lime ape and this happened to him:

That's Vykron in a nutshell. There are 3 versions of Vykron: barbarian (which I got) Tank Top and Space Ace.

So, as always, I should deal with the ratings part right now: 1 = crap and 5 = awesome!

Articulation:
Vykron's pretty much the standard He-buck... For some reason, his right arm seems to be a bit stuck...
everything else is standard for him... 4.0

Paint and sculpt:
The sculpt is awesome! He has this Barbaric look to him His face looks a lot like vintage He-Man's (the jaws and cheeks are reminiscent of those on the vintage toy.)
His forearms look a bit Like the 200X He-Man bracers. and his hands are similar to 200X Adam's
Now paintwise is where this toy gets @#$%^ed up!
First, he's pretty much molded in BLACK PLASTIC!! Shoulders, biceps, forearms, thighs, head are Black Plastic painted flesh. How do I know? some places have lost their flesh colored paint. to make matters worse, his loincloth has soiled his thighs with bits of brown paint stuck on them.
2.5

Accessories:
Now Vykron DOES Have Accessories:
Barbarian Harness
Axe
2 Barbarian shinguards
Goblet with hair stuck on it (Vykron's Barbarian helmet)

Tank head
Tank Torso Armor
2 Tank Shinguards
2 Tank wristguards
Machine gun

NOT a Mandalorian Helmet
NOT a Mandalorian Jetpack
NOT Superfriends' Samurai armor
2 Techno Samurai Arm guards
2 Techno Samurai Leg guards
Laser gun
Horde Trooper-esque belt (I curse every time I have to put it on a character... That belt is a freaking pain in the ass to put on)
This is an obvous 5.0

Overall:

Mr. Vykron gets a 3.83, but let me clarify something: HE IS NOT A BAD FIGURE!! The lower score is because the USS Logistics screwed over a magnificent toy! If his body had been molded in flesh colored plastic and didn't have the random chipping or his loincloth hadn't dirtied his thighs he'd fare a lot better... I'd say roughly a 4.5 for the guy if his paintjob had been close to perfect...

Now, How does the Vykron work, with all the dresses and everything?

So, here's a Vykron... first we'll get him naked.
Now we put in the space Ace pieces... The belt is a Pain in the ass! and that's how you have Space Ace Vykron

All I need is a Carbonite Frozen Spector!

Strip him again and pop off his head. Put on the Tank Top Pieces and voila! Tank top Vykron...
You get the idea...

Now, with that said, I'm not a fan of the clip-on boots. they look too bulky and the fact that Tank top's are incomplete (you can see the Barbarian boots when he turns around) is a huge turn-off. the removable hair/helmet to swap heads between Space Ace and Barbarian is a bit of a turn-off... I get why they did it that way. Another thing that bugs me is the TOO AMERICAN vibe from Tank top... It's a WWII American Tank fused with a Man... and I thought that Spector's Spade was a bit out of place...

The SDCC Vykron had an extra goodie! A special DC Comic with 2!! Stories:
The Lost Knight (a Sir-Loser-Lot story only available online as a Digital Comic)
The Seeker: Part #1 of 6 MOTU Comics from DC
I'll be honest the comic is so-so... I liked the Loser-Lot story better... (and I'm NOT a Geoff Johns fan)
The art is not inspiring or evocative of MOTU... It could've been worse, but it could've been better. I have to admit that if Loser-Lot looked like the Comic, I'd buy him!
