If I have a He-Man, it's obvious that Battle Cat won't be too far. Yes, despite my bitching and moaning, I ended up getting Battle Cat. The figure is based on the Masters of the Universe Revelation series, AKA Kevin Smith's bastardization of He-Man. Since this is not a New Eternia figure there is no new backstory to Battle Cat.

Articulation
This cat is slightly more articulated than the MOTUC Battle Cat. This is an improvement over the MOTUC BATTLE CAT...

Paint and sculpt
The cat is bigger than MOTUC that's the only good thing I can say about it. Everything else is inferior to MOTUC in every way. The sculpt is not horrible, but it feels like a step down from MOTUC. His face sculpt is very Cringer-like, which is intentional. Naked Battle Cat = Cringer now. The colors are awful as well. Instead of the forest green fur that Battlecat is known for, this one is in a sickly avocado green.

Ill-fitting helmet
Ill-fitting saddle
The Helmet is far too open, which allows it to fall off his face by looking at it wrong.
The saddle has a nice Improvement of having two straps to hold it down to the figure's body, but it feels inferior to the MOTUC saddle in quality.

Overall
Battlecat gets a 3.83 as his final score. The sculpt is what ruins it for me. If we get a New Eternia Battle Cat or Panthor, I hope they improve on the head sculpts, since they won't fix the bodies. I need to point out that I got this figure on clearance for $35... local Wal-Marts had him for $48 and change. Otherwise I wouldn't have bought him.
