So I am watching Old Telenovelas and I realized something:

Even child Friendly Telenovelas were wild back I'm the 80s and 90s. My LATAM readers know what I'm talking about.

Case in point, Carrusel. It's a copy of an Argentinean story... like at least ⅙ of Mexican Telenovelas. The story is about this Teacher, Ximena, who teaches Second Grade. The stude is were a bunch of stereotypes. You had the little Prick, Pablo. You had the Spoiled Princess, Maria Joaquina Villaseñor. You had the Jewish kid, David. You had the Fat kid, Jaime Palillo (his last name means toothpick), and Last but not least, Cirilo... he was poor and black. What made things worse was that poor Cirilo sipped hard for María Joaquina, despite she always saying no, he never gave up. Modern sensibilities see him as a creepy stalker... I remembered thinga a bit differently with Maria Joaquina only disliking Cirilo for being Poor.

Yes, she hated him for being poor, but she was pretty much a Klansgal or would be if the Klan accepted Mexican girls.

She gave seven year old me conflicting feelings.
Seven year old me would've simped for her, while hating her racist ass.

This is a Pic of her 10 years ago. The dude is the dude that played Cirilo. This was a 26 year reunion where some of the castmates got together. 33 year old me would still simp for Maria Joaquina.

Back on topic. Maria Joaquina was Racist as fuck! Despite her patents not being Racist she was

Like more Racist than White... Power Ranger minus Ranger folks. Cirilo may not understand "no means no" but Maria Joaquina brutalized his little mind. Kid would need tens of thousands in therapy in these days.

Maria Joaquina's racism got him so bad that in an episode I haven't seen, but I do remember, he tries to whiten his skin.

I mean YIKES! I still have like 300+ episodes to watch. Then I'll move on to Mujer de Madera, because it features the actress who played María Joaquina and it's a fucking acid trip. They change the actress for the protagonist ⅓ through the story and justify it with some weird bullshit.
