Hydra Supreme, is a Steve Rogers who was raised by HYDRA...
Arnim Zola is a NAZI Scientist in a robotic body and has been a thorn on Cap's side for years by Cloning Hitler... just to name an example.
Articulation
Arnim Zola is a redo of the BAF but with new arms. He retains most of the same articulation of the BAF. The only difference is in the arms. Instead of the Ball jointed "Hasbro elbows" Zola has single pin elbows.
If you use the Modern head, his articulation is more limited than the classic head.
4.0
Zola: Aha! You fell for my trap! Cap: *Angry Platypus noises* Zola: Oh, Now he gets into the role... Too late now, Hail HYDRA!! |
Paint and sculpt
Zola has the modern look where the orange is replaced by metallic yellow. The arms seem to be from the Warlock wave Colossus. Nice reusage there.
5.0
Cap: HYDRA!? WHY DID YOU SAY THAT NAME!! Zola: Because I... Cap: CHARGING STAR!!! Zola: It's a Marvel vs Capcom reference!! |
Accessories:
Remote to an Evil Device... IIRC it was to trigger artificial Mutations on people...
Classic head.
To be honest, I can't think of what to give him.
4.0
Before I hit overall score, I'll do Hydra Supreme.
Articulation
Figure needed some repairs before the review. His crotch wasn't glued on properly and it kept popping off. I tried to fix it, but it wasn't a perfect fit. He retains the articulation but you can see a slight split on his side seams IF you look hard enough. He can be as poseable as Captain America, which makes sense since he's supposed to BE Captain America.
4.5
Paint and sculpt:
The torso and head seem to be new. The legs seem to be a combo of UDON Taskmaster and a MCU Captain America. The arms arw a combo of UDON Taskmaster and Ironman. The paintwork is nifty. The only sculpt issue I have is the lack of peghole to plug his MIGHTY HYDRA SHIELD!
4.5
Accessories:
Mighty HYDRA Shield... that's it. No Alternate Steve Rogers head or hands
For a set that is 95% parts reuse, they could've added a bit more reused parts...
3.0
Overall:
Hoo boy! Where to begin!
Zola's 4.33 vs Hydra Supreme's 4.0 combine into a 4.17 as the final score of the 2-pack. It's not a bad set, but kinda meh... it helps to fill a gap, but it's underwhelming.
