With all these nonsensical GITD variants that Super7 is making, well... I guess it's time they should stop being lazy about it.
If they have to do Redecos, then PURPOSEFUL Redecos are the way to go.
Let's use Shredder as an example:
Mirage Redeco
Toon Redeco
Arcade Redeco
Mirage Clone Redeco
Spaghetti Redeco (Call it Shinobi Shredder)
Foot Soldiers could get a different Redeco
Like say a Mirage inspired palette with grey mask magenta shirt, grey pants and brown pads.
Game inspired palettes with game based weapons:
Blue mask, grey shirt and purple pants as a nod to the throwing weapons Foot Soldiers with Kunai, Shuriken, daggers, etc.
Grey mask blue shirt ans purple pants as a nod to the Sword fielders
Etc.
Point is that more thoughtful exclusive redecos can be a better alternative than a halfassed GITD it.
If new accessories can be made, then do so.
This would apply to the Metalheadized Turtles.
These are examples of "Lazy" figures they could make. Even Toon or Mirage Turtle variants require new belts and buckles while reusing everything else.
But let's try something new:
New interesting variants.
These are "easy" variants that require some new pieces, but aren't 100% new tools.
For example:
Incognito Slash:
For all intents and purposes this is an "undercover Slash" but not using that name, so Playmates doesn't feel like Super7 is copying the Undercover Turtles wave and adding other characters.
New body parts:
-New Head with Bowler hat.
-New shoulders/biceps without the armor (whatever piece has the armor attached.) This is important as Slash needs to be able to wear a Trenchcoat.
-new elbow pads without the spike. (Add a skull to be edgy, instead) again, for coat wearong reasons.
Add a new soft goods trenchcoat with a comically large hole on the back that doesn't hide his spiked shell.
The rest of the body is a repainted Slash.
For the accessories, Super7 could have some fun and make something special.
-A roided out bat (reference to the José Canseco Bat line from the movie)
-Reuse the UC Raph suitcase with different tampos
-a Dimension X Blaster (remaking Traag pieces)
-some weird cobbled up alien spy equipment.
A New Rocksteady variant requiring new head and legs to make a First Blood inspired Rocksteady woth new dramatic hands, trigger hands and a new rifle. Toss in a soft goods Poncho and the rest of Rocksteady's normal weapons.
Pig out Eating champion Bebop:
New heads
New accessories
Dramatic hands:
Take Bebop with two new heads, chewing head
Open mouth head with tongue hanging to the side.
Accessories:
New Pig Out Championship belt
NewSoft goods bib
New Spare rack of ribs
New Hotdog
New burger
New chicken bucket with drumsticks
New sauce gun
New soda pitcher
(Most of these accessories could be resold in addition to all the pizzas in an accessory pack)
Point is that Super7 can step up their exclusive game... invisible Tygra, invisible Sheila are logical redecos.
