The equivalent to SDCC is this weekend

I hope that we get some good news in the toy department. Or is it SDCC... many companies are doing their own things so I lost track. In any case this weekend, toy news. Oh shit it's in 202X that SDCC dies and becomes something else.

Hasbro:
I will only comment on Legends, since I'm not much of a Classified customer. I don't care about Black Series either.

Marvel Legends Gamerverse:
My most wanted items for the Gamerverse line are:
  • COTA SENTINEL: A brand new sculpt
  • Spider-Man: A Repaint of the Maximum Spider-Man with the web line, web shield, and web ball, yellow Spider-sense.
  • Iron Spider: A new fogure with Maximum Articulation and the Iron Spider extra legs. (Target Exclusive)
  • Captain Marvel: Based on her MvCI look (Walmart Exclusive)
  • Warbird: Based on her MVCI look (NOT EXCLUSIVE)
  • MVC1 War Machine with War Destroyer attachment
  • Monster Ock: Based on Neversoft's Spider-Man.
Retro Series:
My most wanted figures from the Retro Series (toon based)

  • Spider-Carnage Uncle Ben 2pack: Retro Series Ben Reilly body with alternate slip onsymbiote bits. Uncle Ben would be all new sculpt
  • Calypso
  • Rocket Racer
  • Felicia Hardy and Michael Morbius 2 pack.
  • Logan and Captain America 2 pack
  • Mandarin
  • Herbert Langdon
  • Joe Robertson and Tombstone
Mini comic wave:
Six figures with a mini comic.

  • Rick Jones (with removable Nega Bands to turn into Genis Vell) Captain Marvel #16
  • Genesis Tyler Dayspring with his Apicalypse styled armor. Wolverine #100
  • First Appearance Blade with Tomb of Dracula #10
  •  Headmistress Frost. Based on her Generation X look (Hellfire Boxset Emma Frost with hew crotch and painted tights and new Blazer overlay and blazer wearing arms.) Generation X #1
  •  Spider-Woman (J-Drew) using the new Psylocke body with reverse ab crunch for more posability. Spider-Woman #1 (the 2014 Manara cover)
  • Mephisto  The Amazing Spider-Man: One more Day #4
Legends potpurri wave:
Basically a random themed wave like Legends were before The BAF system... but it'll have a BAF.

The Russian BAF
  • Dolph Lundgren as Frank Castle
  • Kraven the Hunter (Aloysha Kravinoff)
  • Ironpool (without alcohol)
  • David Hasselhoff as Nick Fury
  • Jigsaw (stolen Stark Tech suit)
  •  Jackal (Ben Reilly)
This wave is borderline a Punisher themed wave.

Mattel:
You know it's MOTU.

Cartoon collection:
Melaktha
Glimmer
Kothos
Colonel Blast
Marlena
Garn

Masterverse:
New Eternia Adam
New Etheria Adora
New Etheria Glimmer
New Eternia Blast Attak
1987 Movie Duncan
1987 Movie Teela

Did I mention I NEEDS Glimmer!?

Super7 Ultimates!

GI Joe:
Super7 is most likely to go for repaints... Me? New characters. I'll go for 2 waves of 3:
  • Shipwreck
  • Dr. Mind bender
  • Sgt. Slaughter
  • Serpentor
  • Quick Kick
  • Tomax/Xamot (you need to buy two to have the twins)
Dungeons and Dragons:
Diana, Bobby, Eric, Presto, Venger, Dungeon Master are the obvious choices.

Silverhawks:
Here's 2 3 figure wave wants:

Melodia
Flashback
Hardware
Condor
Timestopper
Yesman

2k3 TMNT:
This one is a bit tough, since waves 1 and 2 blew through most of the important characters. So instead of thinking full waves, I'll just mention characters I want:

Bishop
April
Baxter
Hun
Karai
Chaplin
Karaibots
The Justice Force Members

Vintage INSPIRED TMNT:
I NEED to establish the term Vintage INSPIRED because I don't want to ruffle Playmates's feathers too much. I will also split this into various subgenres.

Vintage INSPIRED Characters:
Figures that were in the Vintage line but tweaked to appease Playmates
  • Pizzaface
  • Dask
  • Kala
  • Traag
  • Chrome Dome
  • Hothead
  • Napoleon Bonafrog
  • Scaletail
"New" Characters Vintageized
they're new as in they didn't make it to the Vintage line,  but they'refrom 80-90s media: Don't worry, No Next Mutation here.

  • Granitor
  • Dregg
  • Carter (Mutated)
  • Tatsu
  •  Lotus Blossom
  • Attila the Frog
  • Rasputin the Mad Frog
  • Stainless Steve Steel
Vintage inspired variants:
Variants that are inspired by the 80s Playmates toys, but not necessarily the exact same 80s toy.

  • Noir Detective Donatello: (formerly Don The Undercover Turtle)
  • Glam Rock Raph: (formerly Heavy Metal Raph)
  • Desert Storm Leo: (Formerly Lt. Leo)
  • Shotokan Master Mike: (Formerly Karate Choppin' Mike)
  • Anchor woman April: (Formerly April the Ravishing Reporter)
  • Hamato Yoshi: (Formerly Mutatin' Splinter)
  • Oroku Saki: (Formerly Mutatin' Shredder)
  • Shinobi Bebop: (Formerly Ninja Knockin' Bebop)
  •  Pit Fighter Rocksteady: (Formerly Gatekeeper Gatekeeper Rocksteady)
  • Gnarly Biker Karai: (inspired by April 2)
Detailed explanations:
ND Don:
Basically Don the Undercover Turtle but with soft goods coat and different accessories.
80s Briefcase
S7UC Raph gun
New collapsible Bo
Eastman and Laird Masks

Glam Rock Raph:
Basically HM Raph with different tiger stripe pattern on his pants, Microphone on Raph's belt is removable. The shirt is painted in Metallic purple to have a "satin" look.

80s Sai drumsticks
80s Base
New 80s Mic
New Dee Snider styled Wig
New David Bowie styled Wig
New Slash (GnR) Wig with hat

DS Leo:
Basically Lt. Leo inspired look with a touch of Guile:
Guile Tanktop with Desert Camo Military pants.
Removable soft goods vest
Removable bandolier and dog tags.
For his accessories NONE of the vintage ones will return.
S7 Slash Grenades
New:
2 "Rambo" knives
M249 SAW with ammo belt
M9

Shotokan Master Mike:
Basically Karate Choppin Mike with soft goods Gi top and belt.
Heads:
Toy based
Screaming

Hands:
Standard hands
Judo chop hands
"Kamehameha" hands
Accessories:
Gi with sleeves
Sleeveless Gi
Belt
Fireball effect with stand

Anchor woman April:

Basically a modified take on April The Ravishing Reporter.
The Blazer and Skirt would be soft goods for the sake of articulation (skirt) and for the sake of displayability (blazer) the color scheme would be yellow and white. If the skirt is removed, she'd be wearing biker shorts.

Accessories would have to be new and follow the theme of concealed weaponry.
Microphone Whip
File Switchblade
80s compact shuriken
Cellphone rapier inspired by Burne's

Hamato Yoshi:
Basically the human form of Splinter
The sculpt could reuse some Shredder parts but with the addition of soft goods kimono and Hakama.

Heads would be normal Yoshi heads and a turning into rat head.
Hands would be the same, but with a turning into a rat hands.
For accessories, rack weapons new walking care, and Renaissance Art book. Would be funny if a nod to this mural was made

Oroku Saki:
Basically a Nod to Mutatin' Shredder, but with soft goods clothes. If you remove the soft goods clothes you'd have a Shredder body without spiked armor.
As I've often mentioned, this would be a 2-in-1 with piecerls to make A Shredder.
Snap on arm and leg spikes slip on neck piece  and alternate Shredder helmet and done!

Shinobi Bebop:
Basically Ninja Knockin' Bebop in Maroon and blue grey. The color scheme is meant to echo the OG Bebop palette in a more subdued stealthy ninja style. Some further deviations from the OG design would be adding the Ninja fishnet undershirt to his torso

For accessories:
Bebop sized Shuriken, Ninjato, Kunai, Meteor hammer (not a ninja weapon but a nod to a different Bebop figure)

Pit Fighter Rocksteady:
His design would be heavily inspired by Gatekeeper Rocksteady
The filigree details would be different as well as the shape of some of his armored parts (leg and Arm armor) the Torso armor would be interchangeable with a faux fur tunic reminiscent of Pit Fighter Conan. His crotch would have a MOTUC styled Loincloth with a belt inspired by Both MOTU and the vintage GK Rocksteady.

Accessories:
Knuckle dusters (hybrid of Conan and PM Gatekeeper Rocksteady)
Spiked Gauntlets inspired by Conan
Gladiator Sword
Spiked Mace

Gnarly Biker Karai:
Sounds like a new variant, but not. It'll be just ne a way to get the April 2 Body made but in shades of Red with black accents (think Tetsuo, Kaneda) the back of her top will have a black Foot Clan Insignia.
Accessories:
Katana
Foot Soldier Blaster
Kunai from sewer Samurai Leo
Kusarifundo

This Karai would be a single release paired with the Foot Sasori Bike a purple, grey, and teal repaint of the Ninja Newscycle with a "tail turret" and "tire slashing claws" remaking parts for the future redecos of April II, which would be rechristened to Bodacious Biker April with the Ninja Newscycle. Which should be colored like in Shredder's revenge.
Thinking ahead, dudes...

New Variants:
Precedent is Wanderer Leonardo...
Let's tackle these! First let's complete the action movie Turtles
  • Tracksuit Mikey: Based on Game of Death Bruce Lee but in an Orange tracksuit with A dark green stripe.
  • Chinatown Rumble Raphael: Loosely inspired by Jack Burton: Tanktop design should have Casey Jones and a Pepperoni Pizza .
  • Don the Kame Senshi: Loosely inspired by 70s-90s Tokusatsu shows
Now let's tackle a few variants:

Human Baxter:
Self explanatory. 2k3 has AA Baxter, 87 should get their Blond Goldblum.

Burne The Investigative Editor:
This is based on the Cartoon, specifically an episode where Burne's with Vernon out in the field. Burne is sporting a Trenchcoat and hat. You see where I'm going with this. They can bypass the Playmates pitching, since this Burne isn't a copy of the vintage PM toy. This has a trenchocat and hat (alternate hatless heads)

Rampaging Rocksteady:
A new bulkier version of Rocksteady with different paint job and looking like he could be a battering Rhino. Add new heads. With and without helmet. (An excuse to give us a closer to toon accurate Rocksteady)

Foot Elite:
I've mentioned these way too many times

But let's see what SDCC? Brings us.
