Saw a clip in Facebook with B-Flynn bullshitting in a way that has surpassed Neitlichian levels. Claiming that Classified is the reason why GI Joe Ultimates faltered.
There will be a couple of figures shown in summer, which will be the final figures. I wonder if one of them is Sergeant Slaughter. Knowing Super7 they'll be repaints.
Here's the thing:
1/12 scale collectors prefer Classified because of the scale. 1/10 collectors prefer Ultimates because of the scale.
Fans of the cartoon prefer the Ultimates aesthetics, but EVERYONE AGREES ON ONE THING:
Ultimates are overpriced and no longer "Ultimate".
That's not exclusive to GI Joe. Back when Ultimates were $35, they came with tons of stuff. Now they come with less stuff AND s7 holds back accessories on purpose to put in their "dick move buy the whole wave from s7 pack". I shouldn't have to spend $110 to $165 on figures I don't want for an accessory that should come with the figure I DO Want.
Then we have the QC issues. I shouldn't have to be repainting $55 figures because Super7 botched the skin tone on Lady Jaye.
Lastly, 27 Ultimates figures between waves and exclusives. 7 repaints and a Variant. The DIC wave would've added 3 repaints, making the line 37% repaints and variants. But since they didn't happen, the line is at 30% repaints and variants.
Super7's biggest enemy is Super7.
- They're their own biggest competitor. Especially when preorder periods overlap. People won't throw over $500 on toy pre-orders in less than a 2 week period for toys they won't see in over a year.
- The delays. The 2k3 Turtles were supposed to arrive in Dec 2024. Now they've been delayed to July 2025. Do I need to mention Thundercats wave 2? TMNT Ultimates wave 8?
- QC issues: incorrect paintwork breaking figures, figures having accessories that they cannot use. (Sabotage Chief can't hold his accessories.)
Then it doesn't help when President Trump's tariffs are harming the toy industry. Not to mention the upcoming DOGE Induced inflation.
I Honestly hope that the Summer announcement is the last 2 waves:
Tomax/Xamot:
A 2-in-1 figure isn't that farfetched.
The vambrace and glove could be like the Masterverse Vambraces, slip-on.
Interchangeable shoulder pad/sash.
The reason for this is to save a SKU.
Shipwreck:
I just want my favorite Joe.
Sgt. Slaughter:
Totally for Non-Joe reasons... Andre needs an opponent.
Dr. Mindbender:
Serpentor's Mommy is needed if I'm going to make Serpentor.
Serpentor:
My reasons are obvious:
Everyone jerks off to Snake Eyes and this version is their most wanted figure. I'm a commando Snake Eyes fan, so I'm OK with the blue Snake Eyes.
Armored Co Co was the DiC figure they should've made first instead of the repaint wave that failed.
Honorable mentions:
Blowtorch... ix-nay orkchop-pay andwiches-say.
Wild Bill... totally nothing to do with him sounding like Fred from Scooby Doo.
Snowjob:
Yes, the guy who lives in a tropical Island is asking for the snow Joe. It's almost as if he had an ulterior motive.
Sonofabitch someone actually did it!
Roadblock with Snakehouse Co Co
Making Co Co an accessory to this Roadblock allows s7 to justify an almost barebones figure for $55, since Co Co is eating most of the budget.DiC Co Co:
Pimp Daddy Destro:
There is no reason for us NOT to get this epic repaint.
Update:
Found the clip. Also i'm aware of my own hypocrisy Regarding variants and repaints.
