I mentioned this set a while back. Now it's time to actually review it. FYI I took the pictures Between October and November.
Basically this is an educational toy where you dig around to find a sarcophagus with a mummy inside. Then you paint the sarcophagus however you like. Since this is an educational toy I can not use the normal ratings for it. So well more or less discuss the process of unearthing the dig.
You start by removing the clay or plaster block from its plastic prison. You can use the Chisel and Hammer to start cracking open the block to get to the goods then you use the Chisel tool and the brush to remove the remaining plaster. The process is a bit log and tedious, so it's going to take a long time.
If you want to cheat backyard and garden hose to wash away the clay. DO NOT DO IT INSIDE AS THE CLAY/PLASTER CAN EASILY CLOG DRAINAGE PIPES.
Just to be safe do it outside.
You're very likely to have to do the wash treatment do it outside to protect your pipes because the tools don't remove all the clay / plaster. Do you need to remove all of it and let it dry fully before painting. Both the mummy and sarcophagus seem to be made out of ceramic or a ceramic-like resin. Not a smart move for a children's toy if it's actual ceramic.
Even Oranges He-Man is too big! |
Sadly, it's not only a lot smaller than I expected, and made of a Ceramic-like material, it won't even close properly because of a factory defect... or 3.
Honestly, this is SLIGHTLY LESS DISAPPOINTING THAN THE Timmee Battle Mountain. I seriously doubt that I'll paint this.
