We saw the recent Revenge of Shredder teaser and old school TMNT fans were stoked! Well, Maybe we should get something like that for He-Man.
NO FILMATION stuff... just based on the vintage toys and other non-filmation media that Mattel has access to. I KNOW Filmation is the lithmus test for everything MOTU, but with the rights issues that Mattel kept fumbling and now are beyond reach, they are up shit creek without a paddle.
Think about it. A Final Fight styled game with He-Man... 4 playable characters:
- He-Man
- Teela
- Man-at-Arms
- Ram Man
The reason for these 4 characters is that they have Melee weapons, don't possess abilities that would "break the game" like say Buzz-off with his flight, or Rio Blast with his arsenal. Now these guys COULD appear in game as a "one shot ally special move" think Maximum Carnage. Or as a Ram Man substitute on the mandatory "flying on a vehicle level" (Ram Man can't fit on a Sky Sled). Others could be "New Game + Rewards or DLC.
You'd go through various Eternian sites battling Skeletor's minions until you face the bonehead himself... probably 4 times in order to squeeze in his variants.
Trap Jaw can easily be a boss battle that is a blatant knock-off of the SNES Shredder battle on TMNT: TiT. Ninjor can easily start as a mini-boss who ends up as a generic enemy (lesser ninjas from his clan or something)
If possible, a Horde invasion DLC expansion could bring TOY BASED Princess of Power Stuff.
A TRUE MOTU GAME with some love and effort out into it could be a great thing... no, Tappers of Grayskull isn't that much of a game.
