But William Hurt died and has been recast!? It smells like Double Standards. Now, I don't mind much recasting roles when actors die, but what the shit Disney!? General Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross should've been recast when William Hurt died, but you chose... poorly!
Ford, why did it have to be Ford!?
For starters Ford is currently 80... I remember commenting about Ford looking dazed and confused, almost senile while on the Blade Runner 2049 media tour. That was 4 years ago. Now, well... let's move away from this line of thought, lest we have Emily's older brother gazing at Indy.
So, putting ageist attacks aside, Ford is a poor choice for Thunderbolt Ross. Especially if we're heading for Rulk. Harrison Ford is Harrison Ford and people are going to see Harrison Ford, especially since in the past 30-ish years, Ford's been playing the same character. I want to see a Gamma Powered Ross, not Old Man Han Solo voicing a CGI character. Even if Harrison Ford was 10 years younger, he would still be Harrison Ford and no one would connect with General Ross they're going to see Harrison Ford not General Ross.
Besides. It would've been cheaper to hire Mark Hamill to voice Rulk.
Hamill does a killer Harrison Ford. Not toention that Hamill could pull a James Earl Jones and have AI skywalker... yes I'm well aware about replacing Han Solo with Luke Skywalker being a dumb dumb idea, because when people hear Mark Hamill they hear either Luke Skywalker or the Joker.
But having Luke Skywalker making a Han Solo impression as the voice of red Hulk is curiously funny. But all jokes aside, they should have gone with a lesser known actor that way people could see the character and not the actor.
Why is it OK to recast William Hurt, yet you shelved T'Challa, especially when there were PLENTY of stories that were needed to help the character grow.
