I am a bit worried about Jada. John, the Jada guy, has mentioned that they may not go balls deep with alpha due to competition. I get it. Storm blew the wind off Jada's sails with their Alpha announcement and subsequent releases in ASIA. (US has to wait until BBTS gets their stuff and Tariffman is making it harder.)
They're considering just doing Street Fighter like they're doing Mega Man. Jumping around from game to game. With Mega Man kinda makes sense, since Rock's design stays the same for 8 out of 11 games (7,8, and 11 being the exceptions)
But no company has completed a single Street Fighter Roster:
Hasbro: never made the full roster in their GI Joe line and they were just SSFII...
ReSaurus: They went multi game and not even a full roster.
SOTA: They went multi game and they didn't complete SSFIIT, which was the definitive SFII roster. They were the closest with Dee Jay being the sole missing character.
Jazwares tried twice and sucked twice:
The 2004 releases felt like SOTA Bootlegs. The 2011 releases were Joe scaled.
NECA:
They had the 2 wave curse before repaints and the line died almost as fast as it came. But they were only doing SFIV...
Storm:
Started with SFV, didn't finish it. Jumped around to Ultra SF2, which they've done a few, SF6, SFIV
With Repaints, lots and lots of repaints. The sculpt quality and amount of accessories is really great. Especially the ultra street fighter 2 figures, but I'm more worried about the engineering side... seeing my MK Ninjas die off due to shoddy QC on $80+ figures.
SH Figuarts:
They started with street fighter 5 as well. Then they started jumping around across games. No rosters finished.
Jada:
Currently needs to release 5 figures: E. Honda, Balrog, Akuma, T. Hawk,and Zangief to complete USFIIT roster, which is the actual definitive street fighter 2 roster. Afterwards, they're going to tackle street fighter alpha 3...
Now here come my thoughts:
*IF* Jada doesn't want to go balls deep into Alpha, they should focus on Unique characters.
Sakura, Karin, The Dolls, Rose, Rolento, Sodom, etc.
We don't need Alpha 3 Fei Long, who is USFIIT Fei Long with lighter colored hair. Blanka has a more vibrant Green... Vega is Blond.
I get characters like Chun Li or Cammy who have VERY different outfits. Even Ryu or Ken who could've been extra heads, but they get full figures for being the Face of SF, ever since SFI.
But we don't need a SFIII, SFIV, and SFV Ryu, since he's the exact same design. I would understand a SFV Ken, since his outfit is not only different, he's got the manbun.
While R.Mika has different Outfits in SFA3 and SFV, i wouldn't make 2 versions of her. Not every character is worthy of multiple variants.
M.Bison would be the exception.
We already have the street fighter 2 version. We need the psycho power overcharged Bison from alpha 3, The old man Bison from SFV, and the Amnesiac Horsegirl Bison from SF6. I would also trade my left nut for a Raul Julia Bison.
Let's change the subject for a bit.
There are rumors that the idea of releasing the car bonus stage hasn't been completely discarded. Allegedly, they're figuring out if it could be logistically feasible to do a release. Again, this is a rumor that must be taken with a grain of salt. But I will try to get it, if done.
On the other hand, Scott and Max have been shot down.

The guys from the Opening. I do have an Ulterior Motive for them... or two.
Make them Deluxe figures:

Breakable wall bonus stage
The other with a few barrels for the barrel stage.
Especially since the figures are very bare bones from the start.
That's Ulterior Motive 1. Ulterior motive 2 is more figure related.
Look at Scott, the puncher. His outfit is very similar to another Capcom character... one who wears prison stripes in Alpha 3.
Swap Scott's head and hands for Alpha 3 Cody and you get a Final Fight inspired Cody.
Now Max who is shirtless. Give him Guy's upper legs and Rolento's lower legs. If you were to swap Max's let's with Huy, you could have a Final Fight Inspired Cody. Jada is not responsible what customizers do with the toys.
But since Scott and Max are not getting made this idea is not happening.
But back to the main topic:
I don't want to end up with Eagle, Remi, Abel, Menat, Necalli, and JP while missing out on Alpha People.
