I got an email from BBTS and Entertainment Earth regarding a MOTU: Origins 4 pack. ($65 on EE and $70 on BBTS.)
Well, it stinks! It's 4 "army builder" figures.
They look Lazy, uninspired and badly made kitbashes. Many parts seem to come from Turtles of Grayskull, guess the line is over now.
My issue is how awful many of these look:
Let's start with the worst of them, the Snakeman. Look at him! The Snake head looks like a thick glove over the Modulok neck. This should have been a Two Bad type of torso or a single headed body. The 200X Skeletor sword was a mistake. The shield is cool though. The Spear from Snake Shredder would've been a better fit.
The Horde Dude... Is that insignia painted on? Holy shit! How lazy can you get? It's the 200X Randor body... and the Randor staff? What the actual fuck!? Turtles of Grayskull Merman sword would've been a better fit. Two of them give him "bat wings" for his Horde Look. Also why doesn't he have a Hordak cape?
The Skeletor Dude... The sword looks badass, but I can't pinpoint it. The head looks cool, but personally, I would've given the body a non GITD Scareglow point job to the body.
The Randorian Guard. Totally looks like a base for Man-o-War. Lame that he has April O'Neil Camera hammer. Gold Leo Swords from wave 1 would've been perfect.
If Mattel had put in a bit more effort in these...
