Crazy idea: Make Metroidvanias out of the non Metroidvania Castlevania games.

Except Bloodlines. The whole world traveling bit prohibits making a game in the style of Metroidvania.

I'm talking Simon's Quest, Dracula's Curse, Rondo of Blood, and of course the Original Castlevania. I'm thinking taking the original games stories and addingnelements to fit the new genre...

For example, The Original Castlevania would have elements from Haunted Castle and Simon's Quest. Like say, the Game Map is comprised of the town close to Dracula's castle and the castle itself. The main element borrowed from Haunted Castle is Simon's wife Selene being kidnapped by Dracula, among other villagers. These villagers have skills that can help Simon improve his arsenal and learn skills as a Hunter.

For Simon's Quest, we get more exposition, larger maps with the endings depending on key actions completed rather than Speedrunning the game.

Same thing applies to the other games. In Dracula's Curse I'd suggest a twist: you need to beat the game 4 times (once with Trevor, once with Grant, once with Sypha, and once with Alucard) before unlocking Shin Dracula's Curse, which would be the "true version of the game" where you play with all 4 characters and can swap at save rooms... assuming you completed 100% exploration with each of them.

Rondo of Blood would have something similar, but for the Maria vs Dracula's fight, I'd totally reuse the old school SOTN Richter v Dracula script...

Classicvania is a thing of the past, unfortunately, so maybe refreshing the classics in a way to make them appealing to modern  Castlevania fans could help people stop riding Alucard's dick.
