We have seen the Ronin Leonardo figure. The "poncho", straw hat, Wandering Samurai look for the former Sewer Samurai. So we have the theme of Samurai movies... even mediocre directors. Not thinking of anyone in particular.
So here's my crazy idea:
What If, the Turtle Variants are based on movie Genres?
Leonardo is Samurai Movie themed
-Donatello would be Sci-Fi themed
-Raphael would be 80s Action Movie themed
-Michelangelo would be Fantasy Adventure themed.
So sci-fi Don, how could he be?
I'm thinking Cyberpunk, Matrix, Johnny Mnemonic shit and I unintentionally referenced Keanu Reeves 3 times... excellent! Make it 4. They could make the Image comics Cyber Donatello, or take elements inspired by it for the new Donatello. But if I were to go "all new" I'd have:
2 heads: one Normal Donatello with sculpted purple Morpheus glasses, no bandana.
Second Head Would Be A CYBORG head
Black soft goods trenchcoat NO PLEATHER.
A modern high tech bandolier. Interchangeable right arm with alternate Metalhead Cyber arm.
Co.bine Metalhead's right hands, a new handcannon attachment. (Metlhead repaint to come later) a technostaff, and other ninja weapons modernized (that could be reused on another foot soldier variant)
Raphael is giving me a bit of trouble... because I want to have this "special outfit" still somewhat resemble a vanilla release. I see reusing the elbow and knee pads from Ronin Leonardo. New hands, forearms, feet, and lower legs wrapped in bandages. A sash like the one JCVD used in bloodsport, but in Raph Red. Add a necklace with the R for Raphael. Add the sai, a second head with a Hulk Hogan styled bandana and glasses for Raph. We can call it pit fighter Raph.
Mikey is another problematic one, because Fantasy adventure skews heavily into dungeons and dragons territory and I don't want to do that here.
We reuse the bandaged lower legs and feet from Raphael. Basic kneepads, Removable shinguards that look like knight greaves.
New thighs with pouches to fit his nunchaku. (These use string instead of chains)
On his waist a thick "champion belt" (Think Trap Jaw's green belt)
For his arms, Ronin Leo elbow pads with new fantasy bracers with a hole to plug an accessory complete the look.
He'd get two removable torso overlays. One is a futuristic "battle shell" with a bright orange M
The other is a fantasy styled Armor with a soft goods cape.
He gets 2heads:
One with a Paladin helm, one that is a mix of MegamanX and the Turtle Saint.
For accessories he gets 2 nunchaku (mentioned above), 2 arm blasters that plug into his bracers.
Klunk with swappable heads. Normal Klunk and Kombat Kitten (a sabretooth head for Klunk) IF Possible a hoverboard from Turtles in Time. Time Traveler Mike.
Again, these are following the Wanderer Leo idea of having a close to vanilla, because otherwise I'd gone for something a bit different:
Donatello would've been more cybernetic, Raphael would've had a more John McClane crossed with Axel Foley outfit and Mel Gibson's mullet from Lethal Weapon. Mikey would've been more MOTU crossed with Thundercats.
