We know that it can't be a "direct copy of Playmates". But it can be Similar. We just need to improvise and adapt:
I will be using a vintage Technodrome as reference.
Size:
The Technodrome would be a "medium-ish playset" the base being 32" by 32" which is a bit too big for most shelves, but this sucker needs to be Ultimates scaled. The dome itself should have a circumference of roughly 88 inches. This would make the diameter about 28 inches.
Theoretically, when opened the Technodrome would be 56 inches in length 36 inches in height without counting the Eyeball. With the eyeball it should reach about 42 inches in height.
The inside would be structured to resemble the vintage toy, but with a more toon inspired color scheme. By that I mean no more weird red purple and blue scheme on the Technodrome. This time the colors will try to somewhat emulate the toon, but making them somewhat more toyetic.
That means a combination of grays, whites and blacks.
The dome part would have various shades of whites, silvers, and light grays with variations of matte and gloss in key areas for accents.
The base and cannons would be a combination of Dark grays, black, gunmetal and blueish gray. Again, combinations of matte and gloss paints would help make it pop.
Now let's tackle the interior:
For the most part, it'll mimic Playmates with a few changes:
The chaise lounge where Ooze can be poured is out of the picture. It will be replaced with aless friendly.looking torture rack with various sized shackles.
Krang's lab is much smaller as it's meant to be for Krang alone on his tripod. Hear me out...
This is to plus up the weapons storage and add a new "foot soldier factory" (with foot soldier endoskeleton figure included)
The larger size allows for the seating stations to work with most standard sized Ultimates. (Shredder, Foot Soldiers, Karai, Rat King with Rocksteady being the biggest fitting figure.
This is the one of the reasons for the bigger dome. It would also allow for better hiding of the supports for the platforms to hold the heavier figures. Also, most of the old stickers would be on screens with interchangeable displays that plug in to the walls, etc.
That sounds very close to Playmates... so let's Deplaymatesize it a bit. Remember MOTUC Grayskull and it's playspace expansion with the infamous wind raiderhole? We're doing the same thing: a floor expansion that adds 24" by 32" of (dis)play area (though the platforms are longer to fit snugly under the open dome pieces as added support. This allows for the torture Spinner to fit and function with larger figures such as Guerrilla Gorilla. It adds a conveyor belt and various trap doors to add various blasters from the games, a larger transmat with interchangeable display plates.
But if you want to display the technodrome closed, flip the extra floors up and they become a rocky display base with small wheel wells to keep the Technodrome from rolling out.
Of course this sucker would be over $1000⁰⁰ but if Playmates was smart for 2027 they could announce a 6.5 inch scaled Thechnodrome for $150 and have it be an upscaled version of the 2024 minidrome. (This year's Advent Calendar will have the Playmates Technodrome. I swear)
