Advent calendar 23: GT? Wait, I thought you stopped collectong Dragon Ball after Yamcha's hair snapped

 Well, this is American Bandai...
Which you all know I RARELY BUY because they Usually stink with screws on the back of the figures... bit they got better with the Power Rangers before losing the license to Hasbro...

OK where was I... Dragon Ball GT

But there is only one figure I would buy... Super Saiyajin 4 Son Goku... or maybe 2 because SSJ4 Vegeta is needed for symmetry. Oh no... I need a Frieza, so I can make Monkey jokes... or worse LATAm DB Jokes.

Wait... WHOSE RESPONSIBLE THIS!? Spike did you let the MuTeens in? Don't lie to me... kick them out, Spike!

So, Goku discovers puberty as he grows up, hair grows in strange places and a certain appendage almost has a life of its own.rcently made Canon by Daima... but let's Do an instant transmission and hit the review.

Articulation
For A budget line it's not that bad... But at the same time it isn't good either. My figure feels crappie than an SH Figuarts, But better than a bootleg. If I were to use politically incorrect terms, I would call it a retarded SH Figuarts. The engineering has some decent ideas mostly inspired by SH Figuarts. It's the execution where this figure fails. There are dropping hips, butterfly shoulders, but they don't work properly..

When your Goku can't Kamehameha correctly, you got a problem.
3.0

Paint and sculpt
This is better than Ukog, but Being better than a bootleg is not saying much. Again, this is a budget figure and for that. There won't be that many paint applications. It's obvious that this isn't a figuarts, but it kinda blends in.
4.0

Accessories
3 extra hands.
Normally I'd complain about the lack of accessories, but when the figure is just $20 in comparison to a $70 SH Figuarts (retail) I
Have to be fair.
4.0

Overall
Super Saiyan 4 Goku gets a 3.67 as his final score. With older dragon ball SH Figuarts figures going over the hundreds, getting a couple of these for $60 is a steal. ie: Z 17 and 18 go for a few hundreds while both Z 17 and 18 go under $60 from scalpers. If you got a few SH Figuarts you could use some Dragon Stars in the background. Personally, I won't be very invested into this line because the articulation issues kinda ruined them for me.

SH Figuarts is doing Ranma the Reboot figures

 They are a rip-off!

The Older Ranma-chan I reviewed...

As you can see, these seem to be for the most part new sculpting. But I, but I kind of fear that they have a lot of reuse parts with just a few tweaks.

Since these are a $100, I don't see myself buying them. I MAY cave in for a Kuno.

Advent calendar ICFtTC 19: The future is not set because of Bulma...

Vegeta: Pathetic... but at
Least it's not the
Lame Saiyaman...

It has been ages since I've done a DBZ figure review. Technically this is a DBXV figure. This is Trunks... the Time Patrol Leader Trunks...

Trunks is the son of  Bulma and Vegeta. He came to the past from a dystopian future in order to save Goku from heart disease and prevent the destruction caised by Doctor Gero's Androids... who are technically not androids, since they are biological in nature with enhancements originating from technology (Nanomachines?) They're modified humans.

So Future Trunks made a mess out of the timeline and angered Chronoa, the Supreme Kai of Time. In order to make ammends with Chronoa, Trunks establishes the Time Patrol and they correct inconsistencies within the timeline. This is the version of Trunks I'm reviewing.

Trunks: Why does Chronoa
Keep this scroll under her Mattress?
It says: Conception of Son Goku...

Articulation
As expected from a figure made by BANDAI in the SH FIGUARTS line, Trunks is heavily articulated. He can pull off MANY action poses. Sadly, his coat impedes a lot of his lower body articulation, DESPITE being segmented.
4.0
He-Man: Are you Mocking me, Princess Trunks?
Trunks: Not really... but I said Hey? What's going on?
He-Man: Touché...

Paint and sculpt
BANDAI excels expectations in this area. The paint job is minimal but effective, especially since most parts are molded in the appropriate color. The sculpt obviously is a great representation of the character in both normal and super saiyajin mode. The only tiny Mythic I could make is that the crotch looks mechanical because they didn't hide the engineering with an actual crotch piece. To be fair his crotch is covered by the extremely long coat and they didn't expect people to be looking at Trunks's taint. The things I have to do for y'all.
4.5
Behold the taint of Trunks.

Accessories:
1 extra normal  faceplate
1 extra SSJ faceplate
1 SSJ head
3 sets of hands (sword grip, flat, scroll grip)
Time scroll (book of end?)
Scabbard
Sword
Sword hilt to put on scabbard.
Trunks: What do you mean this sword isn't broken?

The sword hilt is a genius move to prevent breakage of the actual swprd in the rare case of a shelf dive.
For a Dragon ball figure, he feels a bit bare bones.
5.0
Vegeta: And that's my son...
The Rock: It doesn't matter what his name is!!
Vegeta: Yup, that's my son, Jabroni.
The Rock: Wait, you named your son, Jabroni?
Trunks: The Rock addressed me as Jabroni...

Overall
Time Patrol Trunks gets a 4.5 as his final score. He was very close to be perfect but some minor nitpicks ruined it for me. Normally I would have preferred a DBZ canonical version of Trunks, but this figure has a little bit of appeal.
Wait... I reviewed a post-DBZ Trunks and...

OK, now I can go to sleep in peace... or work, I keep forgetting.

It came from the Toy Chest: Sagat... yes, another one!!

It's no secret that I love Street Fighter 2. And I've been collecting both figured and storm collectibles in order to get the Street Fighter 2 roster. Finally got a Sagat from sh figuarts. the former King of Muay Thai and one of Shadaloo's Four Kings. Vega, Bison, and Balrog being the other 3. Sagat was the final boss of the original Street Fighter. The famous scar on his chest was given to him by Ryu at the end of the original Street Fighter. Sagat has tried to get a rematch against Ryu in various games.
Tiger Apricot!

Articulation
since he is sh figuarts you know the articulation is going to be good. It's not perfect but you can pull up almost every move and pose. To be honest the only post that I'm having trouble with is the one with Sagat touching the scar on his chest.
5.0
Tiger!

Paint and sculpt
The figure has a kick-ass sculpt, but there is a tiny problem. This Sagat figure is too short. We were supposed to be 5'10" and Sagat is supposed to be 7'4". Disfigured is barely taller than Ryu. Everything else it's fine and dandy it's just that he's too short.  He's got an amazing sculpt, incredible paint job but he's just too freaking short.
4.0
Tiger!

Accessories
Figuarts, what are you doing?
2 hands
1 head
1 tigershot
1 stand with variable heights for the tigershot
Tiger Knee!
The decrease on accessories really sucks. I'm not asking for four heads or six hands like storm collectibles, but two hands and a head is making Super7 look like they overstuff their figures.
Seriously they could have tossed in an additional head based on Street Fighter V story mode where is Sagat is wearing a bandana instead of an eyepatch. Or makeup and then add that you could sleep on his head to make him look kind of like his alternate Street Fighter V look.
4.0
Don't let me down, Bandai.
We need the Boxer dude...

Overall
Sagat gets a 4.33 as his final score and it's a shame. if he was slightly taller and maybe come with an additional accessory or two she would have been a fantastic figure. Right now he's a good figure but he could have been better.
See what I mean?
I hope that Bandai isn't pulling the plug on these... We're halfway through the SSFIIT roster. Or less than half of the Normal SFII roster.
Sagat: Finally! I've  beaten
Ryu!!!

May 26, 2020

It was the day where M. Bison came out of the Toy Chest... but for me, it was Tuesday!

Keep your own God, in fact you better Pray to him, for I beheld Satan as he fell frrrrrrrrommmm Heavenah LIKE LIGHTNINGAH!! Pax Bisonica and all that. GAME OVER!! OF COURSE!!! and that covers all the Bison references from Raul Julia... the man who despite beeng dathly ill carried the entire Street Fighter movie on his back.
Yes, Guile, we know:
Bison's ass is your!

Bison is the main antagonist of the Street Fighter series starting in Street Fighter II. He's an evil dictator and leader of the shadaloo crime syndicate.
Bison: And I beheld Satan
as he fell from Heaven
like Lightning...

Articulation
Since he's a Figuarts figure, right out of the bat we know he has great range. Most of the in game moves he can pull off. I've been having a bit of trouble to make the psycho Crusher. But it's doable; I still need to play with his arms a bit more. Since he has interchangeable arms his arms can drop off at awkward moments
4.5
Bison: And Christina Ricci played Wednesday!!
Chun Li: Just use the Tuesday quote...
Bison: But for me it was... FRIDAY!! It's  Friday! Friday!
Gotta get down on Friday!!

Paint and sculpt
This Bison is closer to the Street Fighter 2 artwork then he is compared to the game Sprites. The paint job on my figure is pretty clean.
4.5

Accessories:
Open hands
2 flames
Smiling head
Set of crossed arms
Useless background
I feel like he's lacking something. I'm going to say the psycho powered hands and maybe a stand to pose him in the psycho Crusher pose. Even a cape for the intro pose would've been nice.
4.5
Bison: Who dares enter the chambers of General M. Bi-
The Rock: It doesn't matter what your name is, Jabroni!
It's time to layeth the Smackdown!
Bison: I'm going to Ki-
The Rock: Shut your Mouth and know tour role, M. Buffalo!

Overall:
M. Bison gets a 4.5 as his final score. I feel a bit underwhelmed by the figure and I can't quite put my finger on it. Wild the storm Collectibles is not my favorite version of M.Bison, it feels like it's the better figure. But at the end of the day it looks like figures is the way you'll have to go if I want to complete the street fighter 2 roster

It came from the Toy Chest: Advent calendar bonus round: JEAN!! SCOTT!! BLANKA!?

I  didn't review the Hulk vs Wolverine 2 pack, so to ammend that mistake, I'll review the contents of a BBTS Pile of Loot order that miraculously arrived before Christmas... but after the Advent calendar was finished.
this was a small pile of loot thanks again to super7 being super tardy.

You may have figured out from the title I'm going to be reviewing the Scott Summers, Jean Grey, Wolverine 3 pack and Sh figuarts Blanka.

Scott Summers is a dick. I've already mentioned that his code name cyclops in French is slang for dick. Well this dick shoots energy beams from his eyes.  now he has a bomber jacket.

Jean Grey she can do telepathy telekinesis and sometimes she's a host to a Firebird of Destruction...

Who really needs a birthday clean pair Canadian with anger issues and stabby things that come out of his hands.

Blanka is just a boy name to Jimmy woo crash landed in Brazil and somehow I grew up Green and can generate electricity that shoots out of his body.  originating in Street Fighter 2.

If I go by alphabetical I would have to start with Blanka.

Articulation
Blanka is built on a slightly larger figuarts body. Unfortunately his larger Mass limits some arm and leg articulation.  don't get me wrong he is highly articulated and can make many of his in-game poses.  it's just that is bulky size Dawson lead his arms to be accommodated properly for certain poses.
4.5

Paint and sculpt
They are very little faint apps on him but they are efficient. He's mostly molded in appropriate color Plastics. While this blank is based on his Street Fighter V appearance he has to look pretty much the same in every game he's been in.
The only tiny nitpick I have is that his head is hold onto his neck by a flimsy looking peg and his head it is a rather heavy piece with his long hair. Other than that he's freaking awesome!!
5.0

Accessories
2 extra hands
1 extra faceplate
1 electrocuted Ryu 2D piece
1 electrocuted Chun Li 2D piece
Stand for the 2D piecezls
4.5
Possible breakage point...

Overall
Blanka gets a 4.67 as his final score. I got to say the lack of hands and faceplates it hurt him a little bit. Hell he doesn't even have electricity effects. This would be like Ryu not having a Hadouken or Chun-Li not having her lightning leg. So, I ordered the "Soul explosion" effect (possibly a Knock-off due to the NECA Plastic smell on a "bandai" item.) to simulate his Alpha Electricity effect... Might buy some Electric effects at a later date.
Blanka: Awooo!
Ken: My car!!

Previously on X-Men:

Let's keep going!
Cyclops: Jean!
Jean: Scott!
Wolverine: Shut up, Bub!

Articulation:
Wolverine is literally a repaint of  nearly every Wolverine figure that has graced this blog.
Cyclops is literally the Warlock wave Cyclops with the Old Man Logan jacket.
Jean is the sa.e as the other Jean with new heads and biceps...
In other words there is nothing new in the articulation on these guys... except Jean having a bit more range  in their articulation using the ponytail head maybe...
Cyke:4.5
Jean: 4.0
Wolverine: 4.5
Mirror Match brought to
you by MOJOVISION!

Paint and sculpt:
I mentioned on the articulation review section these figures are basically repaints of previously released figures. Jean is a Mild improvement over the previous one. Kind of makes me mad that I wasted $80 (shipped) on a Rocket Raccoon wave Jean via eBay. On cyclops and Wolverine I'm a bit more torn. I hate that the colors don't match between Cyclops figures. Personally I prefer the color scheme of the Warlock wave Cyclops over the color scheme in this one. On Wolverine I wish he was this yellow bird with the blues of the previous release Wolverine. Well being brutally honest I wish I wish that this Wolverines color scheme would match the first appearance Wolverine color scheme... that would be the closest I could get to a Capcom Wolverine.

putting my preferences aside Cyclops looks amazing will bring looks good but the weakest of the three is Jean Grey
It was at this moment Wolverine realized
that Charles Xavier hated his guts...

Cyke:4.5
Jean:4.0
Wolverine:4.5

Accessories
Jean has an alternate head
Scott has 2 heads and 1 hand
Logan has 2 heads, 2 hands with adamantium claws and a hanging mask
I kind of wish Jane could have gotten a second pair of hands maybe a mind effect Cyclops I wish you would have gotten an optic blast and maybe an extra pair of hands Wolverines okay I would have preferred the X-Force Wolverine claws but they are not accurate to the tiger stripe look.
Cyke:4.5
Jean:3.0
Wolverine:5.0
Wolverine: BONE CLAWS! ARE READYYYYYYY!

Overall:
Since this is a multi-pack I need to tell you the scores of each figure and then give you the final score of the package in general. Normally I would pop in the scores first and then the explanation but I need to make some things clear here.

While Jean Grey is the lowest scoring figure she's the most important piece of the 3-pack. Even if you have the previous release of Jean Grey this Jean figure is an improvement over that one. I honestly wish she had come with a little bit more extras to make her pop a bit better but it is what it is.
She gets a 3.67 as her final score.

Cyclops is a decent figure and many of my gripes with him are just minimal nitpicking on things like color palette.
He gets a 4.5 as his final score.

The same thing applies with Wolverine but I kind of wish we had gotten a different unmasked head. Hell, the screaming head from the Cowboy Logan figure would've been an improvement over the Weird "Byrne head".
He gets a 4.67 as his final score.

The pack gets a 4.28 as its final score.  if we were to get a pact with an improved Rogue and Gambit I'd be up for it. Wild Rogue is a great figure I would like to have a version of her closer to her 90s cartoon look and Gambit really needs a new head cuz the one we have is a bit messed up.

And I guess this is it for 2019 and I'll catch you on 20/20.

Advent calendar ICFTTC 23: Dragon, Dragon, Enter the Dragon: SH Figuarts Bruce Lee

Bruce Lee is a man who needs no introduction. Known for his prowess in wing chun and the creator of Jeet Kune Do.
I reviewed a previous figure of Bruce Lee before.
This one is the Iconic Enter the Dragon Bruce Lee, inspiration to other characters like Liu Kang and Fei Long.

Articulation
Most of the pictures I took of the figure are all him doing Bruce Lee poses or Fei Long poses. For an older sh figuarts figure he is very articulated and I dare say that he's more articulated that the street fighter figures.
5.0

Paint and sculpt
This figure manages to capture the essence of Bruce Lee. His face was recreated digitally based on scans taken from the movie Enter the Dragon. They are in a bit of an uncanny valley territory but they have a better likeness signed figma Bruce Lee figure.
5.0

Accessories
Bruce has:
 3 extra face plates
9 extra hands
2 escrima sticks
1 nunchaku
1 bo staff
5.0

Overall
Mr. Lee gets a 5.0 as his final score. Again same issues that apply to the previous Bruce Lee about being close to perfect but my grading system not being accurate enough still apply here. Sadly is a bit too small for the street fighter figures so no Fei Long substitute for me.

Speaking of Fei Long, this Bruce Lee figure shows us how a theoretical figure of Fei Long would be made.
He'd end up having 2 extra faceplates: screaming amd sideways woo! Face)
4 extra hands (relaxed palms, chopping hands) to complement the fists
Dragon kick effect
If we're lucky an extra gripping hand and a nunchaku.

Salió del baúl de los juguetes: Matador, Ninja, Narcissist...

Obviously, I'm speaking about Street Fighter's Claw dude.
I DON'T mention his name due to the discrepancies in identity... Balrog in Japan and Vega in the US.
He was the second Boss in Street Fighter 2 and some may dare say the Hardest of the 4. Like it says on the title, he's known for his Mix of Bullfighting and Ninjutsu.

So let's put on our Masks, Claws and Yoooooooooo! our way into the Review!
My perfume is acting as
counterweight

Articulation:

Vega sports standard Figuarts articulation... and more! His sash and braided hair are articulated. Not to mention his differently angled Butterfly-esque joints on his torso to allow for his Fence Climbing.
5.0
Vega: Soy sexy y lo sé.

paint and sculpt:
He is almost flawless in this area, but I do have a small issue with him. His hands are Huge! I mean,  his hands are almost as big as his face... sadly, that is a SfIV and beyond thing. Other than that he's pretty great! The essence of the Spanish Matador Shinobi is strong with this one.
5.0
My face! My beautiful face is ruined!
 YOU BITCH,I'LL MAKE YOU SUFFER!!

Accessories:
Like the other SF Figures, he has a cardboard background.
I never got to use it properly, since they never seem to stand properly.
He has an extra unmasked head. Sadly, he doesn't have an extra expression.
*Insert Trump wall
joke here*

His default head has a removable mask. His face has no features beneath. (Looks like an in-game model of Cloud)
He has 5 extra hands. His claw is removable and he has 2 Clawless blade bracer.
Last but not least he has 2 pieces of Modular fence wall. Here's my biggest issie with this figure. The fence wall is too small for him. I kinda wish he had 2 more fence pieces.
5.0 (due to amount)
*Insert Trump wall
joke here*

Overall
Vega gets a 5.0 as his final score. Since my score is rated in half pounts and my nitpicks are tiny, I HAD TO ROUND UP!! The only thing that TRULY, TRULY, TRULY Bothers me is the amount of fence wall included. It's too little and it's useless!
Vosotras no estáis tan emocionadas
como yo por el remake de Fantasía Final 7!
