With the whole media push for Hunter Schaefer in EVERYTHING push, Marvel has done something insane.
Hollywood has been replacing redheads with black people for quite some time. I've mentioned that I'm not a fan of race swapping or replacing characters for copies with different ethnicities.
Well Marvel has replaced Black Panther with a white dude.
And I hate it. Sure it's fun seeing the hypocrisy of people complaining about this, but were cool with turning white characters black. At the same time, while hilarious, this comes off as "racist comeback against diversity". But it has made some of the "right people angry". There COULD be a compelling story to this: a T'Challa sired bastard with Daddy issues coming to take what is rightfully his, but Joephisto is behind this. So I'm reminded how One Moronic Deal turned out and all the bullshit in current Marvel Era and think: Did they actually think this true other than "Let's make the Ryan Gosling as Black Panter meme real".
If they lean to the whole "Whites are discriminated in Wakanda angle" mirroring the racism towards black people in the West angle, they could have interesting stories. Sadly this smells like a gimmick.
Or at least one of his co-creators. Specifically, Peter David, often called the Best Hulk Writer. He was one of the people who gave life to the entirety of 2099.
He had lost his Medicaid and fans collected over 100K to aid him with the bills for his kidney issues. My condolences to his friends and family.
Aside his stint of comics, he's done some TV shows, including being the co-creator of Nickelodeon's Space Cases, whose first season had a certain MASTODON! I mean Black Ranger.
I got the Marvel vs Capcom arcade collection. I have thoughts:

The Punisher:
Decent Beat-em' up game. Capcom didn't half ass things. They have different sprites for anick Fury facing left and right. That was a pleasant surprise. The gunplay dynamic was unorthodox, but it works for Punisher.
X-MEN Children of the Atom:
Fuck this game with a rusty spoon. Even on the easiest difficulty Magneto has more SNK Boss Syndrome than actual SNK bosses. But it's not just Magneto. Pretty much every character is cheaper than a Black Friday at the Dollar Store... Seriously, This game is trying to take quarters from me even in Free play!
Marvel Superheroes:
Finally, we're back to manageable games. The game isn't as cheap as its predecessor and we have Spider-Man. The Gem gimmick was functional and it worked for the game's storyline. This brings back memories.
X-Men vs Street Fighter:
Akuma being a tease in Children of the Atom brought forth this crossover. The tag team battle gimmick became a staple for the series after this game. Out of all the games in the series this was the second easiest to beat.
Marvel Superheroes vs Street Fighter:
Fuck Cyber Akuma with a spike studded dildo. Game is "beatable" but fuck Cyber Akuma. Fuck hin in the ass with a spike studded dildo... a rusty spike studded dildo. Cyber Akuma should die of Tetanus. Other than that, this is X-Men vs Street Fighter but the X-Men have been reduced to 2 and Omega Red. The rest are Characters from Marvel Superheroes.
Marvel vs Capcom:
"Know my name and fear it. I am Onslaught!" Back in high school we said that phrase differently... " Now you are my bitch, I am Onslaught!" Mainly because Onslaught was COTA Magneto in Steroids! This is the most SNK Capcom has gotten with a character suffering of Chronic SNK Boss Syndrome. Here Capcom was beginning to get lazy. Morrigan deserved new sprites.
Marvel vs Capcom 2:
Weird music selection. Holy shit so many characters. But seriously, the music is perfect background music for parties, not fighting games. Also Fp, fp,fp,fp,fp,fp Hyper viper beam.
My only complaint about the game is that it has no endings. There's no real point of playing this game in single player mode.
Honestly, The fact that I can legally play Marvel VS Capcom 2, Marvel Superheroes, X-Men VS Street Fighter, and Marvel Superheroes VS Street Fighter with arcade perfect ports makes it worthwhile.
I don't dislike Miles as a character, well, I stopped disliking him once they found some sort of personality other than Black Peter Parker copy. But I'm not a fan of the redesigns given to him, especially those that add baggy clothes... kinda racist, since he's black and all that. Well, this is apparently his new outfit:
How does that even work, especially since he has to keep all that under street clothes?
Weird Utility belt is not that bad, though the dangling spider on it worries me. The dumbass jacket is what bothers me the most with him. Whoever designed this outfit doesn't understand Spider-Man. Yes, Peter's original outfot was made for showmanship, but as an acrobatic character, the tight spandex without baggy ellements allow him to slip in and out tight spots with ease. That jacket/poncho is a liability for Miles. Ben Reilly was criticized for his makeshift Scarlet Spider outfit, due to the Hoodie. Ao what do they do for Miles?
Hoodie, tracksuit pants and sneakers:
While dumb and impractical, this outfit is very lazy. Feels like it was made for lazy cosplayers to by a cheap mask on Amazon and get an off the rack tracksuit and paint some crap on it.
But the newer outfit makes this dumb tracksuit look like a stroke of genius.
Why the fuck does it have a giant M on it?
A sleek and streamlined version of that outfit without the poncho would be interesting. He needs something that he can hide under his clothing. This bulky Poncho is not something he can hide underneath his street clothes. Stop using frustrated Fashin school rejects as costume designers.
That poncho would make him an easier target if he's sneaking on ceilings. Itbcould also be a distraction if he web yo-yo's and gravity temporarily blinds him. Fuck this garbage design.
Dammit. Wolverine's co-creator, one of Punisher's co-creator, and MARY JANE WATSON'S co-creator passed away in his sleep. My condolences to his friends and family, especially his son John Romita Jr. who, like his father has also been an artist in Spider-Man comics. Romita Sr.'s work in Spider-Man came after Stan Lee and Steve Ditko had a falling out and Romita was the artist behind some of Spidey's crucial moments...
Let's just say that Romita Sr. was one of the top two important artists in Spider-Man's formation. Some folks might say that he's superior to Ditko. I'm not going to say who does that or who doesn't in order to avoid fights.
In the recent run of "Amazing" Spider-Man comics, Peter told Felicia Hardy, aka Black Cat that he loves MJ like a sister and that he sees her like a best friend.
What the actual fuck is this bullshit!?
Best friend? Just to pair him up with Black Cat... The same Black Cat who only loves the Spider-Man side of Peter Parker? This is bad. I'm not mad at the idea of Peter and MJ not being together... I'm not a fan, but I wouldn't be pissed if the reason why they weren't together ACTUALLY MADE SENSE! A divorced Peter Parker makes more sense than a Satanic powered retcon that was fueled by Mephisto's fear out of Peter and MJ's love.
Having Peter and MJ divorce because of her being close to him put her in too much danger and the best way to protect her was via divorce and her moving away to work at a distant branch of Stark Industries would make sense. That would leave Peter open to date in a non-serious manner, due to his WGPCGR issues and maybe open up a bit more amongst the super powered community. Eventually, he would gravitate towards Black Cat and it would be a logical change... the problem is that they soft retconned Pete and MJ's relationship after they found their way back together after the Satanic unmatriage retcon. The base of this separation Is still rooted on One Moronic Deal. That's the problem...
But it seems that being genetically related to Peter Parker means you're getting cosmically screwed over.
Is Superhero Fatigue real? Maybe. Is Disney to blame? Partially. Is Warner Brothers to blame? Partially. Noticed something? The owners of the big two Comic Book complanies are the main culprits of Superhero fatigue. Mainly because they have been the ones churning stuff of different quality.
Smaller companies like Image and Dynamite Entertainment have gotten into the game as well, but their products are direct to streaming in order to avoid competong with the big two at the theaters.
Disney is to blame because they ARE oversaturating the market.
Phase 1 was 6 movies in roughly 4 years.
Phase 2 was 6 movies in roughly 2 years.
Phase 3 was 11 movies in roughly 3 years
Phase 4 was 7 movies, 8 TV series, and 2 TV specials in roughly 2 years. I'm still going through Hawkeye and haven't seen Moonknight yet. I still need to see the GOTG Xmas special.
I know that mathematically speaking phase 1 was roughly 1.5 movies a year, phase 2 was 3 movies a year, phase 3 was 3.7 movies a year and phase 4 was 3.5 movies a year, 4 tv series a year, and 2 tv special the same year.
While "almost 4 movies a year" doesn't sound THAT big, it is kinda big when less people are going to the movies. According to Statista, a survey made in the US between April and May of 2022, 41% of folks rarely go to the movies. 18% said they NEVER go to the movies, while 8% said, they'd do it often. 33% of the folks going semi-frequently. I suppose that a post COVID world and inflation being some of the factors causing the increase of folks reducing from semi-regularly to rarely going.
Now that I dealt with Marvel/Disney, I must mention the Occasional SONY Spider-Man related Garbage and the amazing Into the Spiderverse. While these don't come as often, they're "MCU adjacent" and they cam pile up.
Now to look at the Wanker Buttholes who manage the Distinguished Competition.
11 movies from 2013-2022. I'm not counting the non-canonical Long turd, because it's not canon.
Theu had barely 1 movie per year, but it wasn't the quantity, but the quality of the movies what hurt Audiences.
Let's start by stating the obvious: Zack Snyder hurt the superhero genre with his multihour perfume ads. Play a perfume ad at .25 speed add Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah and you have the Zack snyder experience.
I used this and laughed my ass off, because of how silly it felt, but I also love Drakkar Noir.
Or you can take a random screenshot from a Snyder Movie and turn it into a perfume ad. His controversial and divisive takes on DC's superheroes divided the fanbase and exposed the darker side of fandoms with his toxic Snydercult sending death threats to WB and DC execs, boycotting and review bombing non-snyder WB movies.
But then there's also WB themselves, who give directors "free-reign" on the movies until they decide to butt-in and meddle. While in some cases, their meddling is a good thing, in others not so much. I mean, thanks WB for removing over 30 minutes of Jared Leto as Joker.
But fuck you WB for meddling with Burton's Batman 3. Not to mention fuck you for hiring Snyder in the first place. The mess that Gunn and Safran have to clean up now was in great part, your fault WB. Trying to speedrun the DC equivalent of Marvel's phases 1-3 in 3 movies that kinda worked as deconstruction of DC characters. Instead of quietly shutting down after JL, the Aquaman fluke caused WB to drag the DCEU corpse without Batman, because AFFLECK QUIT DUE TO HIS MENTAL HEALTH. Without Superman because reasons. My guess is that Cavill received too much flak thanks to Snyder's mishandling of the character and also being "the face" of the Snyderverse.
Then we have the spectrum of bad movies like BVS or Theatrical JL (the 4 hour version is worse... it's 4 hours long) we have OK movies but weren't well remunerated like Shazam or The Suicide Squad. And we have the What where they Thinking!? Movies like Suicide Squad, birds of Prey and the ridiculous and pretentiously long title involving one Harley Quinn, and WW84. Then we have meh movies like The Rock refuses to wear pointy ears and a wig that would make him look like early 2000s The Rock because he doesn't want to fight that jabroni Shazam and wants to defeat Superman. Then we have great movies like AquaMomoa and Wonder Woman.
With Disney oversaturating the market and WB throwing everything but the kitchen sink hoping to catch lightning in a bottle on a sunny day and no bottles; we can see where the fatigue kicks in. Then we have the Snydertards hijacking everything to promote their current "only Snyder can do DC" crap.
To this day, I haven't sat down to watch Black Adam. I barely sat through Wakanda Forever completely and I'm dreading its follow up, Wakanda and Robin... Ironheart was disappointing, El NiƱo SiN amor was OK.
But the movie was meh. I hated the circle jerkoff with killing T'Challa because Chadwick Boseman died, yet other characters die and they get replaced by Han Solo. Hell, Eternals has replaced Gladiator as my go to sleep movie.
I won't say that we're in full superhero movie fatigue, but we're getting there.
We need some diversification of content... Fantastic Four is more about a family of explorers whose experiences are closer to Star Trek than normal superhero shenanigans. It doesn't lend itself to the standard MCU trope of Hero faces a person who is essentially a warped copy of the hero.
X-Men would have a lot of politics, due to the whole mutants and discrimination they suffer.
We also need more Street Level heroes, which we're sorely lacking. Not everyrhing needs to be this huge big assed event that somehow is self-contained despite the situation being big enough to make the audience question: "why aren't the Avengers helping with this?"
On the diversification thing, it seems that DC MIGHT have an advantage, since Gunn's plan seems to cover that. The question is if he will stick the landing.
Read the Edge of the Spider-verse issue 4... the one with the handicapped Spider-lesbian... it was absolute cringe. Like most of the receny Edge of the Spider-verse stories, we get a small story that introduces the current Spider and then they get recruited by a Female Spider. Her personality is literally Lesbian stereotype with a disability twist. I'm dreading the Gay golden Orb Weaver Spider-Man. Betting he'll be a 1 dimensional gay stereotype.

Take a White Titty... reread it with a bad Aussie accent, mate... revitalized Thor woth Ragnarok by adding comedic elements as a form of levity. It was a breath of fresh air, but some people hated it... the question is can Mr. White Titty catch lightning in a bottle twice?
Ehhhh... it depends. Some people are hellbent on hating Thor... Mostly because Mr. White Titty "insulted" Zack Snyder. First by "purposely casting Russell Crowe as Zeus to mock Jor-El and the ZSJL Zeus". Then, Mr. White Titty had the Audacity of saying that most director's cuts suck. He is absolutely correct, from a certain point of view.
Yes, there are some good director's cuts and Zack Snyder's aren't among those, but using Snyder as an example. Pretty much All his movies have a "director's cut" that supposedly "fixes issues" from the theatrical releases. It's this inability to fully tell a story within the confines of the theatrical release that Waititi is criticizing. The fact that the Snydercult felt that the remarks by Waititi were an attack on Snyder, means that they're close to the truth, but they'll close their eyes and ears to it.
Third, one battle against Atheist Bale takes place in a Black and White section of the Universe, and that section is long, boring, and it's full of pretentious religious bullshit... kinda like a Snyder "film".
Now enough about Snyder sucking ass... let's talk Thor: Love and Thunder.
Bale was underwhelming as Gorr.
The motivations made sense, but he had little to no presence. The movie was mostly Thor dealing with his issues with Jane. Some of the humor did fall a bit flat, but not all of it. A lot of the criticism against the movie is coming from people who did not see the movie. At the same time, it's not necessarily a movie that NEEDS TO BE SEEN AT THE CINEMA. It's no Ragnarok, but it's better than Dark World...
Spider-Man Beyond had a chance to have Ben Reilly step away from the shadow of Peter Parker and Marvel managed to fumble that. They had their chance with Kaine and they managed to fumble that as well. Marvel LITERALLY RUINED BOTH Parker Clones in order to preserve Miles Morales.
Before I talk Ben, let's talk Kaine... since he was Ben's nemesis. So after multiple ofd deaths and rebirths, he became one with The Other and lost his enhanced Spider-sense. Wearing a faulty Big Time Spider-Man suit, he left NY and became the Spider-themed hero from Texas. He had a few encounters with Ben Reilly in Las Vegas as well... this was after Ben Reilly stopped being The New Jackal. KAINE was THE GOOD CLONE, while Ben was the "Fallen clone seeking redemption". Then Kaine was bleeped off the map once he got the degeneration back.
So that leaves Ben: He was "reset to factory settings" during the Spider-verse mess with Morlun and the inheritors. He ended up becoming the Spider-Man for the Beyond Corporation. He was somewhere in between Superior Spider-Man and Peter Parker Spider-Man. With Peter Parker being heavily wounded, Ben picked up the slack as Spidey. Of course, we all knew this was going to be temporary. Beyond erased a lot of Ben's memories and he tried to fight Peter for them. When the Memory eraser device was destroyed, Ben remained in the self destroyed building and bonded with the molecular rearanging goo that was destroying the Beyond building and now he's the weird Symbiote looking bad Spider-Man known as Chasm.
It ALMOST FEELS like they're purposely sabotaging every person who is rightfully suited to the mantle of Spider-Man before Miles Morales.
Dark edgy Parker Clone = Kaine...
Peter Parker 2.0 = Ben Reilly...
Scenes like this are what make people love the Pete and Ben dynamic. They are the same person, yet different. With Ben Reilly back we expected to have something similar, yet different. Ben is like Peter Parker, but free from a lot of baggage.

Madam Web barely does anything now. Jessica drew is with the Avengers. Anya is doing her own thing, so is Silk. They're pretty much unrelated to Spider-Man events.
Erasing Ben's shared memories would've allowed him to step away from Parker's shadow. This would allow him to be his own man and maybe have him be a "successful Spidey" and have him relearn the Power and Responsibility lesson in his own way distinct from Peter... but no, the jeniuses at Marvel thought... How about we make The joker and venom rolled into Ben Reilly... because Miles ia here to stay.

Daniel Rand WAS Iron Fist. Now, Lin Lie, the Sword Master, is Iron Fist... The Asian guy who has shards of a Mystic Sword embeded into his flesh that now give him Super Martial Arts Powers has gained the Super Martial Arts Powers of Iron Fist. Can you see the Racism here?
Before anyone tries to turn this into an "I want Daniel Rand to remain as Iron Fist" rant, you'd be wrong. Having a new Iron Fist isn't the issue. The issue is granting the Super Kung Fu powers to an Asian who already has Super Kung Fu Powers given to him by his magic sword. If say, an Ugandan proved his worthiness to Shou-Lao, and was granted the powers of the Iron Fist, then it wouldn't be racist, because Black people don't have a stereotype about Martial Arts. Having a Chinese man gain the Powers of the Iron Fist IS racist. The "All Asians know Martial arts" stereotype is racist.
Giving Lin Lie a new Power Set after his sword broke is fine. What's not fine is going on the stereotype of Asians = Martial Artists. Of all the superpowers that he could've gotten, he got Martial Arts. Perpetuating racist stereotypes is not a way to support representation... Jubilee is a much better character at Asian Representation than Lin Lie. She's not a Martial Artist, she's bad at Math and her powers are not based on Asian stereotypes.
Originally, Sulu was supposed to use a katana. George Takei insisted on the rapier in order to avoid the racist sterotype of a Space Japanese man being a Space Martial Arts Master. Even back in the 60s people were aware of these tropes and how harmful they are for Asians.
Even Marvel has mocked the trope before. In Wolverine: Goodbye, Chinatown we get this panel that mocks the racist trope.
I KINDA understand why Marvel wants to retire Danny Rand as Iron Fist. But I feel that giving the power of Iron Fist to an Asian that already had similar powers is wrong. This is for two reasons: The first one is due to the trope. The second one is due to redundant powers being redundant. A Black Iron Fist is less racist, due to no connection to a Martial arts trope. A Middle Eastern Iron Fist wouldn't be as racist as a Chinese one. Even a Latin American Iron Fist could work, since they'd all be a Fish out of water scenario as foreigners learning the ways of K'un-Lun and receiving the blessings from Shou-Lao. It makes the recipient of the blessing a foreigner everywhere they'd be. The whole foreigner to everyone was a huge part of Iron Fist character, not just Danny Rand. With an Asian Iron Fist, the fish out of water angle is lost. Not all Asian cultures are the same, but it's easier to accept someone from a sister culture, than a complete foreigner.
The non-white Iron Fist erases the "white savior" complaint that Twitter has. At the same time by having an Asian become Iron Fist, they're perpetuating other racist tropes about Asians. That is my main issue. By eliminating the accidentally racist Danny Rand Iron Fist with Lin Lie, they've made a different kind of accidentally racist Iron Fist. No progress has been made at all.
Remember Snowflake and Safespace? Aside the stupid names and cringy outfits, they were far less racist than making an Asian Iron Fist.
If Lin Lie had, say gotten the ability to create an energy version of his sword and Shou-Lao's blessing was only for using his chi to heal from the constant damage caused by the shards of the Fu Xi blade and essentially remained as Sword Master from a power set perspective, and having Lie refuse to become Iron Fist as he deals with his Fu Xi powers actively Killing him, while Shou-Lao is giving him life. But in the race to unwhiten as many Superheroes as possible, the powers that be acted just as racist as the racism they were trying to fight. That's like fighting Coca-Cola addiction with Pepsi.
Riri Williams, aka Ironheart had a first appearance in 2016, and in 2017 she officially became Ironheart... but what if I told you that there was a female Iron Man knockoff called Ironheart long before Riri Williams... this Ironheart is also a minority and the star of a Japanese Porn Parody of Iron Man...
Yeah... this is awkward. Unlike most media pointing out Ironheart's origins with Marvel's white male erasure program, I'm simply going to laugh at the stupidity of naming the character after a porn parody. I guess this is another thing Miss Williams stole. (Remember that she stole Stark tech to make her armor... and stolen Stark tech is what started the original Armor Wars in the comics. Stealing from another property makes sense for the character.)
This is way too sloppy for Marvel/Disney. I can't believe that they let such a mistake go unchecked...
Ben Reilly, the Spectacular Spider-Man clone is back and is currently being Spider-Man. This, of course has brought the ire of journalists because it "betrays the promise of Miles Morales being Peter Parker's successor". Ot doesn't make sense since Ben Reilly has been holding that post since the first Clone Saga back in 1975... Hell, even Kaine is higher on the totem pole than Miles. Let's be honest here: the sole reason the so-called "journalists" are mad about Ben Reilly is that they're campaigning for the faux diversity program. Miles only has 10 years of existence. By seniority, Ben Reilly has the right of being Peter Parker's successor... let's not mention that Genetically, both Ben and Kaine have Replacing Peter Parker as their destiny... it's their raison d'ĆŖtre. But since both Ben and Kaine are white, that's bad in current year.
Miles deserves to be something else. He needs to step out of Peter Parker's shadow and become his own hero.
As ridiculous as this outfit is, it HAS BEGUN MILES'S STEPPING OUT OF PARKER'S SHADOW. I don't like that it looks like a Kaine fanboy suit. Since Miles is like Super Puerto Rican, he should take the name "el GuabĆ”" the Puerto Rican Cabe Spider or Whip Spider, in order to a: promote his "so-called Puerto Ricanhood" and b: to separate himself from the Parker trio.
I'm not against Miles as a character, the problem is how he was shoved into 616... in 616 we have a Miles Morales who is a criminal and friend of Wilson Fisk. I think he calls himself Ultimatum or something... the pint is that Miles was literally created to replace A Peter Parker l, which he did and now he's in the main Marvel Universe in the most convoluted way possible.
Especially when existing replacements are available. Now had Miles been a kid who gained Spider powers on the 616 and the Parker clones were discovered later on, I'd defend Miles's seniority over the clones' birthright. It's litwrally the same reasoning why I defend the idea of Rhodey or Lila over Riri as Iron man replacements. .y argument comes from respecting the character's history over interaectional politics.
Like I said before, I want Miles to shine bright in his own and become a Spider-Man of his own and not live under Parker's shadow. Kinda like Anya was doing before she became a Spider-Woman. Or how DC's Dick Grayson stepped away from Robin and became Nightwing. He became a hero of his own, an EQUAL to Batman who only became Batman when Bruce Wayne "died"... but Nightwing doesn't have an issie that Miles does... Nightwing taking the role of Batman doesn't have the same negative connotations of say, Falcon taking Captain America's mantle. Which is more racist:
-Miles wearing a white man's hand-me-downs.
-Miles being skipped as the replacement of a white character by another white character that preceded him by 36 years as a replacement of the previously mentioned white character.
To me, Miles becoming THE Spider-Man is far more racist. Miles IS NOT PETER PARKER AND HE NEVER WILL BE!! Stop trying to make him Peter Parker and giving him copies of the worst Parker Storylines... he had a One Moronic Deal and a Clone Saga now... the whole Kamala's law reeks of Civil War for the young Morales...

Eventually, Peter Parker will return as Spider-Man, but in case that he kicks the bucket, Ben Reilly is still the better option.
It appears that the Estate of Steve Ditko is trying to get a piece of the Spider-Man, Doctor Strange action. Marvel is fighting back and as a preventive neasure they're going after Stan Lee's Estate and Gene Colan's. MarvelMarvel claims that the work these people did was "work for hire" and that protects them from losing copyrights to their characters. This kinda reminds me of the Glut v. Mattel, where Mattel won.
If I recall correctly, the estates of Siegel and Schuster tried this with DC and failed... also Jack Kirby's estate lost their fight as well. They settled out of court... not a defeat, but not a victory either. Point is that in this kind of fights, the precedent is in favor of the corporations, especially in "Work for Hire" situations like the comic book industry.
If the Stan Lee and Steve Ditko Estates get to win, it would literally mean the end of Marvel.
Spider-Man, Marvel's Flagship character, gone. Iron Man, Hulk, X-men, Thor,Fantastic Four, most of the original Avengers, it would be disastrous!
The recent America Chavez: Made in the USA is retconning the Interdimensional Space Lesbian Origin story for her. Now she's an Earthling, suffering from a terminal disease and exposed to an unorthodox treatment. This treatment gave her Superpowers. Her Latina Mothers died in an attempt to save her and the Interdimensional Space Lesbian angle was something America made up to deal with her trauma. Right now her Latina status is guaranteed. Now we need to find out WHICH Latin American nationality applies to her. Are her biological parents Puerto Rican, Mexican, Peruvian, Uruguayan, etc? (They're highly unlikely to be Argentinean)
This origin is FAR BETTER for a simple reason: Now America Chavez is a real Latin American character... though not Puerto Rican*.
*= unless at least one of her biological parents is Puerto Rican, she can't claim to be one.
As I've stated before, Her adoptive parents are Nuyorican born and raised in New York, therefore America is NOT Puerto Rican. At best she could make a weak claim at being Nuyorican. But with her being the actual daughter of a Latin American woman, now she can proudly call herself a Latina. Now if we could get retcon the rest of Gabby Rivera's run, the character could improve.

How is the Justice League funded? Avengers? X-men? The Fantastic Four, despite having a bunch of patents, investments in technology and other sources of income, they have had quite a few brushes with bankruptcy. But who finds the League? Batman's operation alone is over half a Billion dollars. Multiply that with the costs of a fully stocked Hall of Justice, Watchtower, etc. Not even Bruce's pockets are that deep. Same thing with the Avengers. Tony's made out of money, but this operation is ridiculously big even for Ironman, whose expenses run over 8 BILLION per year. Not counting the billionaire playboy expenses.
I guess the answer lies in tax write-off donations for the billionaires in these worlds, international government funding, and other forms of obtaining funds. I mean, Punisher loots the warehouses and hideouts of those he kills. I just can't see Superman taking Money and tech from Lex Luthor and pawning it off to pay for League stuff...

Her foster parents were raised in The Bronx, NOT Puerto Rico .. so that makes her by default a 3rd Generation New Yorker... which means, she's as "Puerto Rican" as The Statue of Liberty. She has no real ties to Puerto Rico, other than the Spanish speaking writer puts Spanish words in her speech bubbles. Had she been raised in Puerto Rico she could've gotten a pass, like Kal-El from the Distinguished Competition does. It's not because he's white. Kal-El is a Naturalized Kansan. Because he WAS RAISED IN KANSAS. He wasn't raised in California by Kansan parents. He was raised in Kansas by Kansan parents. America is a Naturalized New Yorker. America doesn't have that.
The harsh truth is that Nuyoricans are not Puerto Rican. They have this fantastical notion of what it means to be Puerto Rican... not based on reality, but on rose tinted nostalgia from their parents. A Third Generation New Yorker with Puerto Rican heritage is receiving a diluted rose tinted version of an already diluted rose tinted version of Puerto Rican culture. They can LOVE Puerto Rico, the heritage and the culture, but they ARE NOT Puerto Rican.
So, coming back to America Chavez... an interdimensional being, adopted by second generation New Yorkers with Puerto Rican ancestry, living in The Bronx... There is Absolutely no way she can BE PUERTO RICAN!! The fact that Marvel CLAIMS she is one is Absolutely wrong. America Chavez is appropriating Puerto Rican culture and that is offensive to actual Puerto Ricans.
She can be Nuyorican at best, but not Puerto Rican. Right now she's being written as a super powered lesbian parody of Rosie Perez.
The saddest part is that her character was tarnished by writer Gabby Rivera, who made Ms. Chavez into the Lesbian Rosie Perez caricature she is now known as. But Ms. Chavez can be saved by toning down the faux Puerto Ricanness, by having her struggle with her overpowered nature and her lack of identity... maybe even nerf her, since she's ridiculously Overpowered. She probably could've beaten Knull onnher own. With that said, many characters get bad runs. But with America's case, her bad run was due to bad writing by a writer that is a Lesbian Nuyorican who was only chosen to write America because she happened to be a Lesbian Nuyorican.
I guess we might get a Marvel Legends figure of her sometime soon... I mean, Ironheart has been trickling down recently. And yes, I probably will buy her.
Marvel, if you want to make more Puerto Rican heroes, have them be more like Hector Ayala, Miles Morales, or Anya Sofia CorazĆ³n and less like America Chavez... they can be gay, straight, cis, trans, etc... just give them REAL TIES to Puerto Rico instead of being gay Kal-El of Space Themyscira... who identifies as Puerto Rican.
Seems that Ghost of Tsushima is getting an expansion. Ghost of Ikishima is the alleged name of the expansion. The setting is Ikishima, an Island Northeast of Tsushima. Apparently, the game doesn't require you to own Ghost of Tsushima to play it, but you should totally get Ghost of Tsushima if you haven't.
So far there is very little info regarding the game... other than it might be a bit on the shorter end of the spectrum. As long as the gameplay is solid and expands on the things from Tsushima, it might be a decent intermission for the Ghost of... Series. Personally, I hope that Sakai Jin is not involved at all. New Island, new Ghost as things should be.
Basically, Ben Reilly is back in an actual Spider-Man suit... not as Scarlet Spider, but as Spider-Man. I don't know if Peter is out of the picture or what's going on, but Ben Reilly as Spider-Man can be a good thing... Hell, I'd like to see Peter, Ben, and Kaine kicking ass together as a Spider-trio... but we must wait and see what's going on.

To be honest, with the only FYE in Puerto Rico closing, now it'll be a lot harder for me to get NECA stuff...
Infamous Director, 'Nita asskisser, and trollish buffoon, Neil Druckmann wants to do a Punisher game. This is a double edged sword. From a gameplay perspective, Naughty Dog COULD make a kickass Punisher game. The problem lies in the Storytelling portion. His storytelling tends to have a huge disconnect with the gaming portion. You can't have a "oacifist Frank" who worries about hos actiona as the Punisher, but on gameplay, you're given tons of ways to assassinate criminals.
Maybe I'm wrong and Druckmann COULD pull off a kickass Punisher game with a badass story and amazing gameplay. But would it be worth it to make a game that is a complete antithesis of his "magnum opus"? the very same people who praise His creative genius with crucify him... or worse he could royally screw over Frank worse than he did Joel. The worst part of all this is that I am curious to see what could he do with the Punisher.
