Pre Halloween 2020 odds and ends.

I'm getting ready for Halloween and I just realized something: My Jonny Quest costume is looking more like Donald Trump disguised as Jonny Quest than actual Jonny Quest. Wait, did I just fat-shamed myself? Dreading Candy Corn... and the most likely boring Halloween because of COVID-19. I know social distancing and face masks... Mine has a quick doodle of Bandit just to cement the fact that I'm not wearing a Donald Trump costume, I'm wearing a Jonny Quest costume.

Gay Fish is a massive douchebag. He gave Kim Kardashian a hologram of her dad, where the late Kardashian patriarch praises the living shitnout of Kanye West. I think giving her a hologram of her dead father is a fantastic gesture; my issue lies with the Hologram praising West, a man who are the Kardashian patriarch never met. I normally avoid mentioning the Kardashian clan here, but this massive act of douchebaggery caught my eye and made me react with an outloud "What the Hell!? Seriously!?"

Saved by the Bell grittier sequel is coming in November... It seems the only cast member who is NOT returning is Screech the Badass... because they got Lisa back!! Yes, Lark Voorhees is returning as Lisa. Don't know how much of a role she'll have due to her health issues. I don't know if Dustin Diamond would want to be back. In any case, happy Halloween and stay safe. The vans do not contain free candy.

COVID-19 vs Halloween 2020?

 Is everyone going as Ninjas?
Think about it: facemask... black clothing: boom instant ninja. But what can we do?
My pre COVID-19 Plan was Seiya from Saint Seiya, but couldn't get a pair of red Chuck Taylors. So my plan B is:

No, I'm too white to go as Hadji. I'm going to be Jonny Quest. The whole face mask thing screws the Jonny Quest costume but screw it I'm still going to go out Jonny Quest... also Jonny Quest was my plan B if I couldn't get all the stuff for Fred Jones.
In the spirit of Halloween I'm trying to figure out other alternatives to the COVID-19 Ninja costume.

Wild West Bandit:
Plaid shirt jeans cowboy boots cowboy hat and a bandana to cover your face! boom!
Instant costume!

Medical personnel:
Medical style facemask are readily available just getting some scrubs maybe some caps for the shoes and the hair! boom!

Spider-Man:
Spider-Man already has full face mask. And And you have multiple variations: you have Peter Parker you have Ben Reilly you have the Scarlet Spider both Ben or Kaine.  this principle would apply to other characters like Deadpool.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers:
The Power Rangers helmets that has to cover the entire face acting as a face shield.

Casey Jones:
I know what you're thinking Casey Jones hockey mask leaves gaps that air can go through. But if you wear a black face mask these are covered and still looks cool. Same principle would apply to Jason Voorhees, or Vega.

Cobra Commander:
You've got the option for a face mask or a face shield with him.

Peter Pan's shadow:
Since you will be wearing a morphsuit to cover your body the face mask part is already covered. The same principle would apply to say Nintendo's mr. Game and Watch.

What costumes you think you'll see this Halloween.

Another Halloween done! *Language*

And seems like I'm turning into a dad meme by me hoarding Reese's peanut butter cups.
Also, I can't believe that there were folks that didn't recognize my Fred Jones costume...
I mean, Scooby-Doo's been constantly on the airwaves for 50 years.
But, that's not even the main topic of my rant.
The main topic is that FREAKING FRED GETS NO RESPECT!

People who recognized the costume said things like:
"Oh it's the douche from Scooby Doo!"
"You're the non-Shaggy dude!"
"You're the dick that fucks Daphne!"
"You're... what's his name... The asshole that blamed Red Herring for everything!"
(Seriously, they remember Red Herring but not Fred fucking Jones's name!?)
"Hey! It's the dude that loves Dickgirls!"  (People of Culture right here!)

Fred Jones gets no respect... Sure, Daphne is the Hottie, Velma is the closeted Lesbian, Shaggy is the Stoner... Fred well, his love for contraptions to capture Greedy men has become a bit of a joke.

But yeah! Halloween was fun, even if I had to work today! I got Free Candy... NOT FROM A VAN!! From baskets laid out to hand over to customers. After closing we were allowed to raid the baskets.
Also from the Party that I had already mentioned. Luis didn't go as Harvey Birdman. Wing problems. So he went as The Spot... As in the Marvel Villain. He even made spots that attached to Velcro areas of his morphsuit... I really hope he goes to PR Comic Con with that suit in 2020! I drank a bit too much (Thank goodness for Uber) not Black out Drunk kind of drinking, but enough to know that I shouldn't drive. Candy, drinks, danced like a white dude who can't dance... Think I'll just hit the showers and watch some Netflix!

Schools and Halloween Costumes ban... what the Hell!?

In the past few years, there has been a culling in Halloween costumes in schools...
I kinda understand banning certain controversial costumes like say: Taliban, Hitler, Jesus Christ, Bhudda, and other costumes that may be considered offensive in nature towards certain groups.
No Thanos, no! You can't
erase racist costume Zack Morris!
But banning Superheroes, Dinosaurs, or anything that "isn't a profession or career" is downright stupid...
Sayong that superheroes incite violence whole allowing Soldier, Police, or Martial Artist instructor costumes is absurd.

The other excuse is that they frighten smaller children... So do Clowns and Santa Claus... but let me show you how stupid this whole dress as a profession or career is.

Normal clothes work for many careers... Movue Critics, Loss Prevention associates, Reality show contestant... just to name a few.
You could have a kid come wearing only a robe and it could be a writer, an artistic model, a bathrobe model.
Hell, I could have the kid wear the superhero costume, give him an empty Starbucks cup and print out a faux script and we have an actor or stunt double... which is a profession or career...
Also, what's the difference between an Alan Grant costume and a Paleontaologist costume?
Or Gregory House vs a Doctor...
Or how about dressing up my theoretical kid as Veteran suffering from PTSD that gets harassed by police?
It's a career... or the aftermath of said career...

What about OTHER professions or careers? What if the kid wants to come as an art thief? Or Terrorist, or Padre? Or wrestler? Is Timmy going to be in class wearing Speedos and a fancy robe Ric Flair style?  (I'm sticking to bous to avoid the "sexy halloween" jobs...)

Also, Halloween costumes are ridiculously expensive... I'm sure that little Johnny and little Mary won't wear their dentist costumes after that day... But they would wear their Ironman and Wonder Woman costume for weeks!

Let the kids have some fun, dammit!

Crazy ideas for Halloween costumes...

Halloween is coming. Most people will use a straight out of the rack costume of whatever is in right now... Batman, Deadpool, you name it... well, I will help you to have a costume that not everyone might have and it's mostly straight out of the rack... none of that high end and hard work Cosplay stuff... I know it's cool and all, but your lazy ass forgot to get a costume and is now looking at  for ideas... and you need somethingthat cam be done with your barely elementary school levels of arts and crafts prowess.

- Idea one:
Pool noodle, poster board, paint, elastic headband, picture of Harambe.
Take pool noodle cut it long enough to get 2 pieces of posterboard with the word censored attached to it.
Take another piece of posterboard and make a thought cloud... staple it to the headband and glue the Harambe pic to it... there you go, now you're Dicks out for Harambe guy...

-Idea two:
Angel costume, Gorilla hands and mask... Now you're Harambe.

-idea three:
This one is a bit more expensive and requires a full body morphsuit, a piece of cloth almost your size and of similar color to the morph suit. Jean shorts, sneakers John Cena U can't see me sweatbands... You're John Cena.

-idea four:
This one might be a little controversial because it's related to Donald Trump.
White outfit, white elastic Headband, Donald Trump plushie or Funko Pop!
Attach Trump to headband, preferably near his feet. Congratulations, you're the piece of Toilet Paper that got stuck to the Donald.

-idea five:
Controversial because Trump! This one is for his haters.
Trump Mask or wig, cheap barbie knockoff, Toad plushie or the 8-bit world of Nintendo Toad.
Attach Toad to crotch... if anyone asks about the doll deny that it's Stormy Daniels.

-idea six:
Controversial because Trump! This one is for his fans. But it requires a couple of days for Prep Time.
Trump Mask, The most ostentatious pieces of knight, centurion, and cyborg armor you can find at the store, lots and lots of gold paint. Don't forget an oversized sword and gun, tape to cover the orange cap on the gun when repainting, and last but not least an American Eagle plushie.
Take the armor pieces and weapons and paint them gold. If you can get an American Flag couch throw, get it. That will be the cape. (It's not the actual flag, so there is no violation) attach eagle to shoulder and now younare God Emperor Trump.

-idea seven:
2 white t-shirts, scissors, electrical tape (black), gold and blue paint, an ommitrix, blonde wig.
Take one shirt and add tap mimicking the design on Ben Tennyson's shirt. Cut and paint the other shirt in new She-Ra's outfit design. Wear the ben Shirt and Omnitrix. Look at the wog and outfit in disdain, congratulations now you are a new She-Ra hater.

-idea eight:
For this idea, shaving your arms is heavily recommended.
Black flex seal.
Spray flex seal on shaved arm. Now you're Eddie Brock being infected by the symbiote. If you feel courageous, you could add red paint and a red party city wig and say you're Woody Harrelson...

-idea nine:
This one is expensive since it requires a full body green morphsuit, preferably green, round white stickers, "greaser jacket", black pants and biker boots, a dowel and red, orange and yellow cellophane.
Cover the dowel in cellophane and make it look like flames. Wear the outfit. Pretend that the cellophane dowel is your urine... You are Nicolas Cage pissing away his career.

-idea ten: (shoot! I should've done the Ben Ten one here...)
Get a cardboard box big enough for you to get inside. Don't move, orsay anything. Just write:
"Katze drinnen, nicht öffnen
E. Schrödinger"
Yes, you are Schrödinger's cat.

-idea eleven:
This one is a bit unorthodox, but the theatre fans will love it...
A friend, 2 lifesize skeletons (preferably fake...) 2 bowler hats, 2 "hello my name is" tags. (One for each hat. One will have Didi written on it. The other will have Gogo. Have the friend put the Skeletons wearing the hats at the party first. Preferably sitting as if waiting for someone. After the skeletons have been hanging out for a while you come in with a Third "hello my name is" tag with the name Godot written on it.

Idea twelve:
This one is rather easy, but it could turn expensive...
A Power Ranger in civilian mode. Here I won't do specifics, because there's too many darn rangers. But as an example:
Tommy, Mighty Morphin era.
You'd need the green tanktop, the green headband, the black pants. A slightly longish hair wig or short ponytail.
If you do white, then ditch the headband and give him a white tanktop maybe a larger white shirt with the sleeves and neck cut off, longer ponytail. A Mighty Morphin' communicator is recommended. Morpher is NOT NECESSARY, BUT IS A NICE TOUCH. If you do Billy, Glasses and blhe clothing are mandatory. Personally, I'd go for the dark blue polo shirt with colored stripes and blue overalls.
Of course these work best when done in group... whether same team, or a "forever red", or all the Tommys kind of thing.

-idea thirteen:
This one is a bit of a spin-off of twelve, but not a Power Ranger exclusive... Superhero secret ID/civilian clothes.
Costs and items required may vary between characters.
For example, Bruce Banner is literally torn purple pants.
Tony Stark only needs a touchlight mildly repainted that can be attached to a shirt... (magnets maybe?) Peter Parker would only need a Spidey mask that pokes out of a pocket and an old school camera.  Clark Kent is just a shirt and suit. Also a comoression shirt with the Superman insignia is recommended. (Looks better than a plain Super T-shirt)
Cyclops would require fancy glasses, etc.

Some require some more prep time than others, but the results are much more refreshing than 7 Suicide Squad Harleys and 12 crappy store bought Deadpools.

Why do I love Halloween?

Being raised on a myriad of Christian sects due to family following different sects, I'm supposed to have mixed reactions to Halloween. From the "It's the Devil's birthday" to "it's an appropriation of pagan festivities and turned into something approved by the Church, like Christmas"
To me it's simply a commercialized day exploited by candy and costume companies. No religious connotations.
I've mentioned the candies already, so I won't get into that. What I love the most is the costumes. From the straight up store bought stuff, to the cosplay level stuff. Few years ago, I did Stay Puft. I've done Edward Cullen and Steven Seagal. This year, I went with an actor that is somehow very popular in Germany.

Yes, I went as a man who does not exist. Since not everyone got the reference I had the KR theme on loop for five hours... That can become annoying really fast, but I was having fun with it while I worked. When people figured out that I was the Hoff, they began laughing thanks to the absurdity of the situation. Seeing a Zombie Santa hanging out with Hello Kitty and Peter Quill is a hilarious situation. Even seeing Multiple Spideys can be fun or headache inducing if you were a Marvel fan in the 90s.
Seeing the effort or lack of it out into the costumes is amazing... Getting free candy is an added bonus. In any case I have to get home because of a curfew... I REALLY NEED POWER... of the electric kind. Next year I should be George Lucas...

Stop! Candy TIME!!!

Finally the Candy rant/list is here. I went Trick-or-Treating as Edward Cullen...
Why? Simple: I'm already Vampire-ish pale. I had clothes that resemble the Eddiekins doll. A bit of Make up to enhance the bags under my eyes and a lot of Glitter gel and voila! I'm a Poison Fairy. I had A Classic Vampire Cape and Fangs so I could be Edward Pretending to be a Vampire. (My own little joke like the Vegetarian Vampire joke from Twilight.)
Had to deal with Twilight haters. Twihards (I was a bit of a dick to them, but that's how Sir Saparks-a-Lot rolls)

Enough About the Cullens and their lack of Vampiness. It's all about CANDY!
(Insert I want Candy Song here...)

Ok Where's the Song? Not gonna use it!
Now for the top picks on this halloween:
Worst offenders:
Halls Lozenges:
Hello! These ain't Candy!
Lozenge: a small usually sweetened and flavored medicated material that is designed to be held in the mouth for slow dissolution;especially : one that contains a demulcent lozenges>
Candy: a confection made with sugar and often flavoring and filling.
Lozenges are medication... you jerk!

Now our next offender is:
Candy Corn
I know it's a halloween classic, but it's rare to find small fun-sized packs of candy corn. So people just dump candy corn in your jack-o-lanterns. (usually after the jerk that dumps 30 cents in pennies) Mmm! coin flavored candy...

Any gummy stuff that ain't gummy bears... is our next offender. For some reason the only great tasting gummy stuff is bear shaped. (Worm shaped is good too to an extent.) The moment other shapes start showing up the gumminess is lost and sometimes the candy is either rigid or crappy tasting.

On the other hand there are more awesome candies:
First on the list:
Classic Gum Yum! It's a bit harder to find these days, but when I do I try to chew as much as I can...

3 Musketeers:
It's so light and fluffy. That's what I love about it... Especially when received on Halloween.

My Favorite candy:
Reese's Peanut Butter Cups... If I got some, I ain't sharing... Don't care if you're Bella Swan, He-Man, The Pope, or Miley Cyrus These are MY REESE'S PEANUT BUTTER CUPS! you can have the coin flavored candy corn...

Well that about cover Halloween 2010's candy run... Remember. Don't over eat it otherwise Mo-Larr will come for you.

Halloween Costumes vs Cosplay

I made a random list of awesome cosplay Why I made it? Well take a look at this:
Optimus Prime: The Cosplay versusOptimus Prime The store bought costume
Obviously the Cosplay rocks... It can Transform.
Cosplay Red Ranger versus Store bought Red Ranger Store bought is looking kinda good, but still it looks off.

One thing I HATE about store bought costumes is when they Make "Sexy" female versions of male character costumes.
Ironnette
Green Lantern
I'm a fan of accuracy, not skankification. It's nice for girls to have a passing "nerdy" interest in dressing up as comic book characters, etc. But PLEASE do it ACCURATELY.
