Mortal Kombat 11: The Rant

I've been playing Mortal Kombat 11 during December and I've mixed feelings about it. While I've had a bit of fun with the DLC folks and MK movie skins (Linden Ashby AS THE MAN, THE LEGEND, JOHNNY CAGE kicks so much ass! Christophe Lambert as Raiden comes in a close second.) The game itself is Underwhelming. The Gameplay is OK... but it feels like a watered down copy of MKX. Then everything else feels half-assed.

The story continues after MKX and Shinnok is dead, now his mom wants revenge and is messing with the timeline to rewrite history. This causes past versions of the kombatants to clash with their future selves. The new big bad is Shinnok's mom who has time controlling powers. Basically a female MK1 Shang Tsung and Frieza hybrid that can summon a dinosaur in battle.

Aside from story mode, you have the towers, which is like Arcade mode, then there's the towers of time, which is like Arcade Mode wirh twists and turns that more oftenthan not work against you. Then there's the super empty Krypt, where you walk around and open RNG chests with the koins, souls, and hearts you kollect in battle... and that's the main issue with the game. You're stuck in an almost endless grind cycle for stuff. Fight battles, earn currency, go to krypt, open chests, lather, rinse, repeat. You have to do 25 fatalities to each NON-DLC character in order to unlock their heads on the krypt, but you need to fight on the towers only... good luck batrling Shao Kahn 25 times when he's a no-show 98% of the time. The grind never ends.
I've already complained about Mortal Kombat losing its irreverent edge and now the Lore, which was what made me into a fan is also losing its edge.

Seriously, we have Linden Ashby AS JOHNNY CAGE but Goro is not playable... what the fuck, Boon!!?
