Advent Calendar 15: I pity da foo!

With a title like that, y'all know I'm talking about First name Mister, middle name Period last name T... Mr.T, as in the man who pities foos. Partner of Hulk Hogan in the first Wrestlemania.
Sadly, I missed out on the matching Hogan. Don't eat my balls, please!

Hogan: People said I'm racist, so to prove I'm not, brother here's my N-word friend.
Mr.T: Did you just use the hard R?
Hogan: No I didn't.
Mr.T: I'm revoking your pass, foo!

Articulation
Mr.T has the standard Elite Articulation but with Butterfly shoulders and hinged toes, which are a plus. Unlike Slaughter, he doesn't have any stuck joints.
4.5
Hogan: As you can see, my brother is wearing my Merchandise showing he's my N- negro.
Mr.T: Don't give me no jibba jabba you racist foo!

Paint and sculpt
He looks like Mr.T circa Wrestlemania 1, but using a Mattel WWE buck, which is slightly more stylized than an accurate Mr.T.
There are no signs of paint slop on my figure
4.5
Mr.T: That's it Sucka! It's T time!
Hogan: I want it with Lemon and Honey, brother!

Accessories
Extra head
2 Extra hands
Hogan Crucifix
Mr.T chains
Soft goods Hulkamania shirt
Soft goods robe
Hulkamania cap
Back massager
5.0

Overall
Mr.T has a final score of 4.67 and I pity da foo who thinks this is a bad figure. For a Mattel WWE figure, this is as good as it gets.
Mr.T: Another foo! Another chain added to the collection. Sometimes, I wish it didn't have to end up this way, as violence is bad, but some foos just won't listen.

Mr.T: All I can do is pity them and hope they change their ways. Hopefully a successor shall come and walk the path of pitying the foos and can solve manners without resorting to violence.

NECA should do a TV Toyline...

Y'know how they do Aliens, Predators, Freddy Krueger, Letherface, Jason Voorhees, etc.
Or the Terminator, Rocky Balboa, Rambo, John Matrix
Well, how about if they did some of TV's greatest Action Heroes:
Of Course I'm thinking of:

Think about it... What's more 80s TV than THE A-Team?

Wait, Mezco did these a few years back... So scratch Miami Vice... Let's go MORE 80s...

Magnum!! (I know Mom would've gotten Magnum... she would've gotten Higgins too begrudgingly.)
But We can go even more 80s...Yes, you know who I'm thinking of...
Deutschlands größter Schatz, David Hasselhoff

And I'm not forgetting Patty and Selma's favorite TV Hero...

The Budget breaker would be This guy:

Think about it... We can get so many Aliens and Predators... Also, didn't NECA do Home Alone!?

a BARBIE on MATTYCOLLECTOR!? WTF!?

Yup! you heard right! Mattycollector's got a Barbie... a Julie Newmar Barbie...

and guess what is the other Exclusive revealed today...
If you said a Hot Wheels, you won a No-Prize!!

A Hot Wheels A-Team van but all muddied up.

I have to say that these two are THE BEST reveals Mattel has made for SDCC... Sadly, The Barbie or the A-Team Van will NOT be available on Mattycollector. Apparently, none of the Hot Wheels will be on Matty. Just Shazam, Super 2 pack, and the Comet Warriors...
Let's see what the Final day of reveals will bring... (or what the non-Hot Wheels Item will be)

Now we'll never prove the A-Team's innocence

Stephen J. Cannell, can be seen by Haley Joel Osment
He died at the age of 69.

He shall be missed, especially his shows where Character A was framed and has to become an outlaw... Helping the helpless while trying to prove his innocence.

Mr. Cannell's work was so ingrained in Pop Culture in the 80s that 20 plus years later people remember it fondly. It's a shame that he is gone.

I pity the Foo' who watched Jaden Smith.

While Kung Foo' Kid is the highest grossing movie of last Weekend, I went with the better choice... The A-Team.
I want to make an unbiased review of the movie, but the A-Team fanboy in me is making it hard. The movie was entertaining, full of over the top action. The violence was almost like an 80s TV show but with a bigger budget.
The big question is IS IT GOOD? The answer is much tougher.
IF you liked the show, then YES IT'S GOOD! If you hated the show (Like Roger Ebert), you shouldn't bother with the movie.

The plot of the movie is based on the show's premise (updated to the 21st Century.) The Team is no longer involved in 'Nam, Now they're Gulf War Vets. During the movie you'll see the Crime they didn't commit, the Team being sent to prison, their escape, etc. It's an origin Story. Not really spoiling anything that isn't told in the first few seconds of the TV series opening theme song.

The chemistry among the Team is there. The Love-Hate relationship between Murdock and BA is present. The characters are pretty much the same as the TV versions but slightly updated for the film. Many of the little things from the show are in the movie. The van is present in the movie. B.A.'s fear of flight and the sneaky ways to get around it are in it too. Random destruction where almost everyone comes out unscathed is here as well. Murdock's craziness is ramped up to a hundred. Face is still horny as heck (no sex in the movie). There's a cameo of TV Face and Murdock in the movie. I missed it unfortunately.
Even though the story seems mildly dark, The A-Team feels really lighthearted. Obviously most of the funny moments belong to Murdock played by Sharlto Copley.
The A-Team song can be heard a couple of times during the movie. I know it's not that big of a deal, but It really helped encase the whole A-Team feeling.

Long story short. The movie feels like a huge budget longer Episode of The A-Team.

Story: In faithfulness to the source Material I'd give it a 4.5/5 (obviously some points are lost for adapting the story to a more modern time and one plot element that I will not spoil, but it involves B.A.)

Acting: The entire movie is an over the top mess celebrating the TV show. These characters are over the top almost cartoony. Yet the performance of the actors was Top Notch. Not Oscar worthy material since this movie was a popcorn flick based on a cartoony over the top violent TV show. 5/5.

Music: Most of it was forgettable except the parts that THE A-Team Theme showed up. 3.5/5

Overall score 4.33
As I've said a million times. Support the A-Team, don't support that Remake from the evil spawn of the Fresh Prince.

80s and 90s shows adapted into movies should we? Part II

Here's part II of movie adaptations of 80s and 90s TV shows that should or shouldn't be made into a movie.
NOTE: These lists are my opinion if you disagree that's cool. I am not an authority on Remakes, but one thing is certain I just hope that the adaptations don't get ruined beyond recognition like DragonBall Evolution, or Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li.

Now unto part II: The DO's
Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers:
Before you start screaming NO! NOT POWER RANGERS! Think about it. I'm talking about a reinventing THE ORIGINAL Power Rangers in movie form. (Yes I know that I'm usually against re-inventing and fixing what's not broken, but... The mish mash of Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger stock footage and the American segments really has to go. Besaides better budget/writing can make the Power Rangers look more awesome than before.
(Before you ask, YES I want the Black Ranger to be black and the Yellow Ranger to be Asian... Zordon chose them that way.)

Charmed:
Though I'm not much of a fan of this show... (I'm more of a Buffy fan) Lost my interest around season 2. Tried to watch it when the Writers pulled out a 4th Sister out of their bums. I mean COME ON!! This will be some girl power movie that the guys will probably see for the T&A.(Hopefully Megan Fox will not be in this...)

This is not Knight Rider:
Ahh yes... This one NEEDS to be in the big screen. It was the most watched TV show of all time (or so they say). Slow-mo running on the beach, red swimsuits, the only bad thing is that it'll probably be David Hasselhoff-less... unless someone finds a way to squeeze in the Hoff in there. (other than executive Producer/advisor/ or whatever) If they ever maek this one... I'd better be prepared cause it smells like they might toss in Jessica Simpson, Megan Fox and other "hot" ladies (mostly untalented) as the lifeguards...

Mr. Belvedere:
Other than to piss off Peter Griffin, I'd like to see this show adapted into a movie... It's another Fish out of water comedy with an English Butler adapting to life with An American Family. If the movie is made; I hope it's more of a family movie with comedic undertones than a self deprecating parody.

He was a cop, and good at his job. But he committed the ultimate sin, and testified against other cops gone bad. Cops that tried to kill him, but got the woman he loved instead. Framed for murder, now he prowls the badlands. An outlaw hunting outlaws, a bounty hunter, a Renegade. That's all I have to say... Another Stephen J. Cannel show in which people are framed for a crime they didn't commit. Now these outlaws are fighting other outlaws.

Don'ts:
The Nanny:
NO ONE Can replace Fran Drescher. Seen various adaptations and it's not the same. I mean a movie adaptation could work, but something in my gut tells me that it will most likely suck.

Blossom:
WHOA! don't get me wrong, Blossom WAS a good show, but I don't feel it would work in the big screen. Unless it's a VERY SPECIAL Blossom movie... (Other than the fantasy sequences in which Blossom recieved advice from Celebrities like ALF...)

Family Matters:
This one is a don't for one reason only: Steven Q. Urkel. If the plot does NOT revolve around Steve Urkel then I'd be more than happy to see a Family Matters movie. (and if they don't forget the existance of Judy Winslow...) I don't want to see 90 minuets of Urkel on the big screen.

Full House:
Warning this show is so sweet and cheesy that it makes the care bears seem like douchebags. Now this is something that we should forget it ever existed... Yes it gave us THE OLSEN TWINS, John Stamos and Dave Coulier's mullets, and Bob Saget... who is a lot funnier on America's Funniest Home Videos. (or his raunchy comedy act... Seeing Danny Tanner spewing all that filth = Priceless.)
Dear John Stamos: in the words of your former castmate Dave Coulier "Cut! it! out!"

Walker Texas Ranger:
No Chuck, No movie... Even With Chuck I still say no movie. This is an ego stroking show for Chuck Norris. I don't need to see more Chuck Norris ego stroking on the Big Screen... (Sidekicks, Delta Force series, Missing in Action?)

There you have it. I did not include Cartoons on this list because I wanted to keep it with Live action (being simpler to adapt.) but I'll just leave you with one cartoon that if Adapted to a movie I'm guessing it'll suck more than a vaccuum: PowerPuff Girls in Live Action.

Movie nEwS: A-Team will rock and no more Tobey-man.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=58wE_7rzj6w
Sorry, but the Video can't be embedded... Just watch it foo!
The A-Team will Rock! As long as the Trailer isn't a bait and switch... So far it seems that it'll be VERY faithful to the Series' premise. (And it seems to be an Origin Story, which would set it "before the show...")
The only minor complaint I have is the lack of GOLD on B.A.
If we could get a MacGyver movie that looks as awesome as this A-Team Trailer, I'd be a happy mullet loving nerd...
on Other News, Tobey-Man 4 is a no-go...
http://www.deadline.com/hollywood/urgent-spider-man-4-scrapped-as-is-raimi-and-cast-out-franchise-reboot-planned/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

Sam Raimi gave up on Spidey so now they'll Reboot the Franchise... Should I be happy or sad?

-Hopefully This time they'll stay a bit closer to the Comic Book Canon... Like NORMAN OSBORN KILLKING GWEN STACY
-No "Power Ranger" Goblin.
-No more Every fricking supervillain has a connection to Spidey...
-No More KIRSTEN DUNST!!! I swear her last decent movie was Interview with the Vampire...
-Spider-Man 3 IS NO LONGER PART OF THE SPIDER-MAN CONTINUITY!!!

Yeah, You know you love it!!

Bad News:
-Venom could return
-They could use crappier mordern villains as Menace, Morlun, Paper Doll, etc.
-They could do the clone Saga...

-They could Rape Spidey beyond recognition...

FEENY! Fe-fe-f-e-fe-fe-FEEENY! and other stuff

Mr. Feeny, played by William Daniels was a Yoda to the Matthews Boys, Eric (Will Friedle) and Cory (Ben Savage). He was also known as as Knight Industries Two Thousand. I'm not gonna talk about how cool is the fact that Mr. Feeny is KITT... well not now. What I want to talk about is the Curious Case of George Feeny. He was Cory's teacher in Elementary School. He also was his neighbor. When Cory graduated to High School; guess who was the Principal...

George Feeny. Not only that but when Cory finally Reaches college; guess who also entered college. (His last name sounds like Weenie)
FEENY! Good God man! Can't you move on!? I know you care about Cory (and Gang) but C'mon! I'm pretty sure that he kept stalking Cory and Topanga after the end of the show.

That's pretty much a quick summary of The Curious Case of George Feeny. Did I mention that Mr. Feeny = KITT? I did? Well I'll say it again. William Daniels is KITT.

Remember kids if Someone tries to trick you with a Ford Mustang voiced by a former Batman as KITT; you call them liars! The True KITT is a Trans Am voiced by William Daniels.

Bad Remake/Sequel, with a Bad Car and a Bad Chunky KITT (Whose VA was quickly replaced. They couldn't afford Bat Kilmer)

This guy loves KITT so much... Check it out!

On other news. The A-Team is coming!
In 1972 a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the goverment they survive as Soldiers of Fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire The A-Team! Blam! blam! Blam! blam! blam!
http://www.atomicpopcorn.net/the-a-team-van-looks-very-familiar/
Probably the intro will change to 1992 (Gulf War) if they keep the intro.
We've got Liam Neeson as Hannibal (I love it when midichlorians come together!)
Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson as B.A. Baracus (He's a Mixed Martial Arts fighter, so he'll be able to beat up some foo's and hopefully toss the suckas' who need to be pitied.)
Bradley Cooper as Templeton Peck... (He was in The Hangover and Wedding Crashers. He does have a 'Faceman' flair...)
Sharlto Copley as H.M. Murdock...
Sounds pretty good, hopefully they won't blow it by changing too much that it doesn't even resemble the original. At least Willl Ferrell is not involved. June 11, 2010 is the so called release date...

A little something more cool than the A-Team intro...
