It was pretty good... even if Mr. Cullen and Mr. Welker aren't Prime and Megatron respectively. (It's hard to get over the fact that Fred from Scooby-Doo is Megatron...) It is obviously inspired by G1 and othher continuities inspired by G1... To be honest I don't know if it's based on IDW comics OR if it has to do with the War for Cybertron videogame.
Regardless of continuity and my lack of knowledge of which one is it; I enjoyed the miniseries a lot. Especially what they did to Megatron. Tank transformation aside... My Megatron is a gun, dammit! I actually like how Megatron acted like a politicianand twisted events to make them look like the Autobots were a tyrannical force that Megatron was forced to fight for Cybertron's freedom.
Putting the Autobots in a desperate position made their struggle more exciting. As the saying goes: Desperate times call for Desperate Measures! Prime is a walking example of that. His decisions are constantly being questioned by the autobots and the viewer, despite the viewers having more knowledge about the universe than the characters themselves. I really hope this series continues and ends up on Earth... A modern retelling, nay, a modern reimagining of G1 that is faithful to G1's essence, would be interesting.
