So I watched Cobra Kai season 4

And man, it redeemed Karate Kid part 3... Terry Silver is freaking badass... Sure he might have terrorized a teen during a summer for a High School Tournament while hopped up on cocaine and revenge... but KNOWING THAT THE COCAINE THEORY IS NOW CANON, it makes Karate Kid part 3 make a lot of sense now.

Finally, the kid playing Anthony LaRusso gets a character arc that is more than witty remarks and playing videogames.

The LaRusso and Lawrence Dynamic is still the same, one step forward, two steps back. The Miguel, Sam, Tory, Robbie rectangle is getting more CW-esque...

History repeats itself, try and you'll succeed! Never doubt that you're the one and you can have your dreams... You're the best around... sorry, I got a bot carried away, but once again the theme of History repeating itself shows up on the series... and in true Cobra Kai fashion it subverts our expectations by flipping Karate Kid tropes around. Super spoilery stuff after the jump.

One last chance to turn back if you clicked by accident. I will drop some spoilers here and I don't want to be blamed for spoiling when I warned that there would be spoilers...

You still have time to click back if you did it by accident...

Are you sure?

Don't say I didn't  warn you...
So, based on the last episode, Xolo Maridueña being available for Puerto Rico Comic Con AND Cobra Kai having some scenes filmed in Puerto Rico for Season 5... Once again we're going to be Mexico. My guess is that Old San Juan in yellow tint will be used as "Mexico".

The Silver plot tweest was a rehash of the Kreese plot tweest a few seasons back. You can almost feel bad for Kreese here. Kreese created a monster and lost control of it.

Having a story arc with Tony LaRusso being a bully that gets his comeuppance was a nice twist. At the same time having Robbie's arc be an echo of Johnny's season 1 arc was a noce surprise.

Tory's story had a few turns that were seemingly pointless at a first glance, but it's setting up for a possible face turn on Season 5... that is if Samantha LaRusso's LaRusso stubnornness and hot-headedness doesn't screw things up.

While we can't have Kung-fu Kid in Cobra Kai, thank Goodness, I'm disappointed by the lack of references to The Next Karate Kid... that final scene at Miyagi's tomb almost made me believe that he was talking to Julie... but it was Chozen...

I must assume that Season 5 will be the last one, because I can't see how else can they pad out this series.
