Entertainment Weekly did their first shots revealed. Last time they did this it was with the Pop Cultural Appropriation of She-Ra by Noelle Stevenson with a bad perspective shot where Glimmer looked big and fat, instead of being short and fat. That topic still gets trolled to this day by idiots who think that fictional characters can be "fat shamed". They also think I'm racist, sexist, homophobic... just because I hate race swapping characters. BTW let me heck if they have put some trolling comments in that post...
As the time I'm writing this post, they haven't made any trolling comments... I'm guessing I might get some here because of Ginger Erasure... Lt. Andra, a ginger, is now black. Most MOTU fans were Filmation bred. I was one, but I have learned about other continuities and lore throughout the years. And even Neitlich tried to combine the multiverse in his own way... sadly, his skills as a professional fiction writer are almost as bad as an amateur blogger who dabbled in fan-fiction once or twice. So, those with knowledge of lore and respect the characters are goin to be puzzled on why this redhead is now black...
"If you're againt diversity, you're a racist"... is the big lie that SocJusWhiners love to spread.
Diversity is not bad on its own. It BECOMES BAD when it REPLACES INSTEAD OF ADDING.
And the target of choice tends to be redheads, who are roughly 2% of the entire Earth's population.
Random Generic Black Girl is supposed to be Andra... wait, did they give Teela the Gary Oldman lesbian hairstyle from The 5th Element? Not hating on lesbians, they are awesome people... and no I'm not talking about the porn category. I'm hating on the half-buzzed, half long hairstyle made popular by Gary Oldman on the Fifth Element. Any person using that hairstyle most ridiculous doesn't matter the gender or sex.
"Oh no! You're hairstyle shaming" say the people that mock Mullets.
Before any person reading this after the show comes out and she ends up having short hair and tries to point that out in a very stupid way, and let me remind you that I'm reacting to the picture post a bob on the first look at the show based on that screenshot I'm criticizing the hairstyle. It may be different for the actual show that hasn't aired since I'm writing this post on May 13th 2021. This date happened sometime before the actual release date of the show, July 23rd 2021. I know being a SocJusWhiner can make concepts like times and dates difficult to understand, but try to keep up.
I not seen show. I not react show. I react photo. Photo shown month May before show. When I see show Month July I react show Month July.
Hopefully they'll finally understand that I even dumbed it down for them... I mean made it accessible to their tiny Squeaky clean smooth Soc Juiced Brains.
I could make a tired joke about water tribe evil-lyn, I could question roboto's poncho, but the one thing that's triggering me almost as bad as Ginger Erasure and Zorgteela, is sleeveless Orko... motherfuker's scaring me!!
Now that I got the complaints out of the way let's talk about the good:
Visually the show feels like a hybrid between filmation and MYP... we have a wimpy filmation inspired Adam at a big muscular He-Man sadly none of them are voiced by
LIQUIIIIIIIIIID SNAKE
Would you look at that I really sign that disrespectful to the source material, Noelle Stevenson could learn a lesson or two here.
Aside the removal of the Iron Cross He-Man is looking pretty great! The Sorceress looks rather nice too!
And it seems that Skeletor and He-Man will actually fight something that we haven't seen since their 2002 series. Okay I do have one tiny nitpick and it is that the backgrounds look too Earth like...
Teela looking like Teela... hopefully the Gary Oldman version doesn't show up that much on the series and we get this version most of the time.
Visually the show looks great! The only thing that could ruin this for me is the writing. Please don't suck please don't suck please don't suck!!!
Before this, Lt. Andra only made a few appearances in the Marvel/Star comics, and that was for some panels.
ReplyDeleteI'd understand why it was an outrage if she'd shown up more.
She was also made a traitor in ine of the recent DC comics... I think it was the Thundercats crossover.
DeleteShe has been criminally underused and I weep at the erasure of another ginger... (mostly because I prefer redheads...) to the point that any fictional ginger has an 80% chance of becoming black... Why "Black" and not "any other color that isn't black or white"? Racebending is lazy and going straight to black is even lazier.
Last but not least, I also make mountains out of molehills for the sake of hits.
