A while back the Venom 2 trailer dropped. Well, SONY is doubling down on their stupidity. A SONY Exec said that "You won't miss Spider-Man after Venom 2"... translation we're going to fuck this up bigger than Zack Snyder and WB did the DC Universe.
After the disappointing Spider-Man-less Venom, Sony seems to double down on keeping Spider-Man away from Venom. Not only that but they went to make movies about Spider-Man characters without using Spider-Man. They are making a Kraven the Hunter movie without Spider-Man and they hired the guy who played Quicksilver to play Kraven the Hunter. Then we have the whole "into the Spider-verse" rumors from the third Tom Holland Spidey movie. Tobey and Andrew Garfield are rumored to be in it as well as Alfred Molina, Willem Dafoe, Paul Giamatti, Thomas Hayden Church, Rhys Ifans, and Jamie Foxx... with Norman Freaking Osborn acting as the leader of the Sinister Six...
This level of bullshit REALLY GRINDS MY GEARS!! Everybody knows that The Superior Spider-Man villain is Doctor Octopus not the green ass douche I mean Goblin... Doctor Octopus created The Sinister Six and is the de-facto leader of most versions of that team. I honestly find it creatively bankrupt and incredibly lazy to pick villains from multiple dimensions to bring forth the 6. The vibes that I'm getting from from this remind me a lot of Warner Brothers and Zack Snyder's building the DCEU. It's pretty obvious that they have no plan no idea what they're doing and most importantly no knowledge of the lore. The end result is crap... we have seen it with the DCEU, FOX's X-men and Fantastic Four, but most importantly with SONY messing with Spider-Man after Spider-Man 2.
It's sad that SONY is doing things this way, because they have the potential of being good... but we've seen their work... it's kind of hard to get excited for Maximum Carnage when basically half of it is not going to be there. We are getting a Kraven the Hunter movie not related to Spider-Man and he's not going to be part of the Sinister Six. We're getting a Morbius the living vampire without Spider-Man, without Blade or any of the Midnight Sons. And every time a SONY Exec opens their mouth, Mephisto laughs with glee.
