Advent Calendar 14: Bunny Bodyguard

NECA Released the best version of the Bunny Bodyguard by Stan Sakai. While Based on the appearance on the TMNT Toon, this Usagi is looking like he usually does... unlike the vintage Playmates toy tbat has him in full samurai armor. I reviewed the 2012 TMNT Version of Usagi. And the scariest part is that this figure reminds me a lot of that one.

Articulation
This Usagi has "Hasbro elbows" and "Hasbro Knees"), which, in combination with his loose clothing, do not allow the figure to go in Seiza position. With the additional hands (in this case open left) he can be posed in more expressive ways for some iaido poses. Basically, he's a smidge better than the 2012 Playmates figure. I wish he had butterfly joints for better sword poses.

Paint and sculpt
His sculpt is based on his appearance on the TMNT 1987 toon, so you know what to expect visually. The figure captures the essence of Toon Usagi, but he has sculpted fur details that weren't visible in the cartoon. The paintwork has the Toon style cel shading paintjob that I'm not a huge fan of... but it works on Usagi.

Accessories
4 extra hands
Extra head
Straw hat
Hooded robe
2 swords
Scabbard
Belt for robe
Belt for scabbard
Katar
Kunai
Tokage the dino/lizard thing.

The most worrisome thing here is the plastic strap for the straw hat. It feels extremely flimsy and fragile, so there high chances of breakage.
I kind of wish that we had gotten an extra set of hands with vertical hinges, for sword poses.
The Hood is wired...

The robed hood feels like an oversized bathrobe

Overall
Miyamoto Usagi gets a 4.83 as his final score. I'm not going to lie, the figure is close to Usagi perfection, but the nitpicks I have with the articulation are what knocked him out from a perfect score. I don't believe that Super7 could surpass this figure.
