Booyah! A Cyborg rant

Recently, Ray "Cryborg" Fisher lashed out at the DC fandom because of "Booyah!" His pretentious stance is basically that character catchphrases are stupid and Cyborg shouldn't have one.

Well, Fisher is wrong:
First let's state the obvious, Zack Snyder is a hack and should have never been allowed near the mainstream DC Universe.
Why do I mention Hacky Poo? Because he's the one making everyone be BIGGER ASSHOLES THAN FRANK MILLER'S ALL STAR BATMAN...

Second: That catchphrase is what made Cyborg WELL KNOWN OUTSIDE comics to casuals.

"Just like Holy_____, Batman!" Became Robin's Catchphrase or

"I'm Batman" and many variations of it became a catchphrase for the character.
I know not all catchphrases work well... "Suffering Sappho!" Comes to mind, but others like "Great Hera!" For Wonder Woman, "This is a job for Superman!" or "Up! Up! And away!" for Superman would work IF WE HAD A COMPETENT DIRECTOR THAT RESPECTS THE LEGACY OF THE CHARACTERS... translation: Not Suck Snyder.
But in Snyder's bleak world, heroes can't have any fun or enjoy their calling.

Third: "Booyah!" Is a sports themed slang. Victor Stone was an athlete before he was turned into the part metal part flesh monstrosity. I understand Fisher's desire to focus on the pathos and have Vic Stone suffer as the machine overtakes the man and he feels like a monster and not a man. "Booyah!" Is Cyborg's turning point. This is a bit of Victor Stone coming out. The man is breaking the armor made by the machine.

Refusing to use "Booyah" just shows that Ray Fisher doesn't understand Cyborg...

This is the part where the Purists complain about the comic book version not having this catchphrase. I'm aware this was added to the early 2000s Teen Titans series. It's a shorthand explanation of Vic's competitive background. The silly cartoon actually PUT CYBORG on the radar outside of hardcore comic book nerd circles...
Hell, not many people know that the robotic parts on the titular Robot Chicken are based on Cyborg. (But the RC people are huge nerds.)

Other media allows obscure characters to shine... The Teen Titans cartoon allowed Cyborg to be popular. On the Marvel side, the Capcom games made Shuma Gorath a semi-popular character... all because Capcom saw a Tentacle Monster (Japan...)
That little phrase, is LITERALLY THE REASON WHY CYBORG BECAME POPULAR! THAT STUPID CATCHPHRASE IS LITERALLY THE REASON WHY THIS DOUCHE CANOE (Fisher) EVEN HAD A JOB!!
Fuck Ray Fisher, Fuck Zack Snyder, and fuck Warner bros. for screwing up the DC Universe!!
