Or Power Rangers Dino Thunder. Yes, I'm tackling the entire team: Connor, Ethan, Kira, Trent and Dr. Thomas Oliver. So, Dr. Thomas Oliver is a paleontologist who was aiding Anton Mercer, but a freak Accident involving Dinosaur DNA turned Mercer into a Dr. Jekyll and Mr.Hyde situation. His counterpart is Mesogog, a humanoid reptilian hellbent in world domination and recreating the age of dinosaurs. Luckily for Humanity, Dr. Oliver discovered the Dino Gems and 4 of his students triggered the gems and becoming the Dino Thunder Rangers. (Though the White Ranger was originally evio, he saw the light and became a force for good.) The fifth Dino Gem was triggered by Dr. Oliver himself, who had LOTS of experience as a Power Ranger.
Yes, the black Dino Thunder Ranger is Mighty Morphin Green, White, Zeo Red, and the first Turbo Red... because he's Tommy, played by the late Jason David Frank.
The DT Red Ranger is Conner, a soccer player.
The DT Blue Ranger is Ethan a nerd
The DT Yellow is Kira a token girl who is like the Wish version of Avril Lavigne.
The DT White Ranger is Trent, he draws and is the son of Anton Mercer/Mesogog.
This is a long one, so let's begin.

Conner, I got from KMART
I believe Ethan was from BBTS or Entertainment Earth
Kira might have been from Entertainment Earth or Hasbro Pulse.
Trent was from EBAY
Tommy was most definitely from Big Bad Toystore.
Before I start the actual review:
I freaking hate that Tommy's stuck in the "green packaging" while the rest of the team is in traditional clear plastic window packaging. Good thing I'm not a MOC guy.

Articulation
All rangers are engineered the same. The slught differences are in sculpt. Kiras skirt interferes with her leg articulation a little, just like Trent and Dr. O's armors hinder the shoulders a little. Meanwhile Conner and Ethan have the best articulation of the group, since they lack sculpted elements that block articulation.

Paint and sculpt:
The sculpting on these is really great. I have no complaints about them. Hell, the face sculpts of the unmasked Dino Thunder Rangers look far much better to their actors than the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers do to theirs... and both of them have Jason David Frank, so I know Tommy Oliver when I'm looking at Tommy Oliver.
Sadly not everything is unicorns and rainbows here. Because Hasbro cut corners on the paint job. Aside from Conner the rest of the Rangers are missing paint in their hands. Their gloves should have the scale piece on the back of the hand painted in the same color as the other scales on their outfit. For Tommy they should be gold for Kira and Ethan they should be white for Trent they should be black. Also my Trent figure is missing some scales painted on his lower legs. The Trent figure is Infamous for having a huge paint error that the black elements around this visor were not added and Hasbro had to send mail-in replacement head to fix this issue. The trend figure I bought from eBay came with the additional mail-in head.
Most weapons got mpst the appropriate paint job except for Connor's Tyrannostaff. It is missing a lot of paint details that are way above my pay grade.

Craziest part is that she actually gives them to him! *barney the dinosaur theme plays* Trent: Oh, I gotta go! It's my dad! Tommy: *Laughs* Barney theme because Anton Mercer was Mesogog... wait... Mesogog Mercergog... I got the perfect ringtone for your dad, Trent! Conner: I wonder what's my ringtone on Trent's phone? Kira: I know that one... GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL! Conner: Sweet! Because I'm a soccer player... Ethan: What's mine? Kira: Uh, you don't want to know... Conner: It's the ice cream truck song. Ethan: That's a bit racist, but two can play that game... here's my new tone for Trent Kira: That's not racist, that a beloved Latin American show. But do any of you know my ringtone? Tommy: it's this... of course it's a cutesy song since he... Conner: Since he what? Kira: Nevermind, Dr. O, aren't you curious about your ringtone? Tommy: I know what he has for my Ringtone... Conner and Ethan get their Thundermax sabers in both gun and saber mode.
Kira only gets gun mode for the Thundermax Saber
The figures price increased but we get less paint and less stuff... we can't even combine the weapons into a Z Rez Blaster nor do we have alternate pieces that would connect into it...
Ethan's shield has no ports to connect Kira's Ptera grips. Conner doesn't have a Tyrannostaff that folds into the blaster mode or an alternate folded version, Trent doesn't have a short version of the Drago Sword to attach and Tommy doesn't have the extra pieces to connect the Brachiostaff and the Drago Sword to the Tyrannostaff. Good Mighty Morphin Power Rangers had accessories to connect all the weapons together. Why not the other groups?

It's a bit sad that Hasbro started cutting corners with this line. I get that Mighty Morphin Power Rangers is the bread and butter, but this is a TOMMY OLIVER TEAM! As in the character played by Jason David Frank, who was literally THE FACE OF POWER RANGERS in the Convention Circuit. Seeing the decrease in quality and attention to details on non MMPR product is disappointing. I'm not expecting SH Figuarts quality, but we're hitting Bandai America levels of corner cutting. All we need now are screws on the back or rhe figures. It feels bad too end Sentai Week in what was supposed to be a big bang ending up as a whimper.
