A lifetime ago, I suggested the idea of New set of Street Fighter figures based on the Short-lived GI Joe Movie and SFII lines for Classified.
I recently read the IDW crossover and it gave me a few ideas. So, I'll try again and go a bit more in-depth. But unlike their past Joe versions, the accessories will make sense to the character. For example, Ryu gets a Bokken, due to Master Gouken's non-Deadly Ansatsuken. Guile gets guns, becaise Military, etc. So let's try to do the 17 World Warrior figures.
Guile:
Pretty much Roadblock with new forearms. Add Flint's webgear and shotgun. Extra comb holding hand clip on Sonic Boom effect.
Chun Li:
New Torso and arms. (Maybe reuse Lady Jaye's arms?) Lower Legs from Movie Baroness. Add a leg holster for a gun and the belt and lower part of her qipao could have a sheath for her Chinese sword. Extra hand with Victory ✌pose.
Cammy:
Torso and legs from Scarlett, new Arms. Extra head with comm device. 2 submachine guns (nod to Cannon Spike)
Blanka:
He would be 100% new tooling but if planned right, his torso could be used for Zangief as well. His accessories would be electric effects and a second head with electricity coursing through it.
Zangief:
Reuse the Blanka Torso, new arms, Big Boa styled Lower Torso/crotch New legs (Lower legs that could be reused for a Road Pig)
RPG and Green Hand, removable bandolier with RPGs instead of bulets.
T-Hawk:
Road Pig Body, new jacket, new Lower Legs.
Accessories, LongBow and Arrow, quiver, machete.
Fei Long:
He'd be a Quick Kick reuse sans his bandolier. New lower legs with "kung fu slippers" his accessories would be nunchucks multiple hands like the Marvel Legends Shang Chi, flaming effect for the rising kick.
Vega:
Quick Kick torso and arms, new right hand with claw, ZARTAN legs, new heads (masked and unmasked) Matador cape (Muleta), Matador sword.
Balrog:
Big Boa torso and arms with boxing gloves. Salvo legs. Extra hands with comically large Brass Knuckles slipped over the boxing gloves.
E. Honda:
He's 100% New Tooling. His accessories would be a pair of Hundred hand slap effect.
Dhalsim:
Another 100% new tooling fig.
Interchangeable arms, yoga head, extra fists, yoga fire and flame effects that plug in yoga head. Flame effects could be reused for Dreadnok Torch.
Sagat:
He would require 100% new Tooling. Additional fists, Sniper Rifle, Ridiculous Toy Gun with toy ball firing effect (nod to the movie), clip-on or pluggable Tiger shot effect.
M. Bison:
Cobra Commander legs. Destro lower torso and arms. New upper torso New Cape similar to Snake Supreme Cobra Commander, extra psycho power hands, translucent purple Destro gun... New removable Psycho Drive from the SG x GI Joe comic.
Dee Jay:
Reusing Roadblock from the knees up and new lower legs with bare feet. NEW hands and slip-on wrist part of his martial arts gloves. His accessories would be machine gun fist effect, 2 sub machine guns, maracas, max out effect.
Akuma:
Similar to Deejay but new thighs, new gi. No weapons, only clip-on satsui no hado effects.
Ken:
Classified Snake Eyes (movie) torso and shoulders. New lower torso with Quick kick legs and new lower legs compatible with bare feet. New biceps/arms with martial arts gloves.
Flaming Shoryuken effect, come on hand, Victory pose hand, fist hands, hadoken hands, Nerf Gun, Bokken sword and tanto. SFV styled Gi draped on his waist.
Ryu:
Reusing the Quick Kick body with the Ken lower legs, new torn gi that's worn normally. Hadoken hands, fist hands, hadoken effect, bokken sword and tanto, Nerf Gun. Extra screaming Satsui no Hado head.
There you have it the SSFIIT more or less GiJoe-ified. Tried to reuse and preuse as much as possible in order to fit in with the stylistic choices of GI Joe Classified. I still can pull off some extras if I try hard enough:
Dan:
Reuse Ken's body with Ryu's gi. Add crying head and Gadoken hand. Nerf Gun and a large pink and black rocket launcher reminiscent of the 90s ridiculous spring loaded missile launchers.
Gouken vs Evil Ryu:
Evil Ryu is a straight up repaint of Ryu, but wearing Ken's SFV styled Gi. Gouken is mostly a repaint of Aluma but with a new top.
Ken vs Killer Bee/Decapre:
Ken gets a new gi similar to Ryu, same accessories, new Classic and Alpha heads.
Killer Bee is a repaint of Cammy with new Shadaloo Cammy and Decapre heads, same accessories as Cammy minus the comm head. She gets a pair of psycho power blade hands.
Nash vs Full Psycho Powered M. Bison:
Bison is a translucent and purple Bison redo with the Psycho Drive being in its normal colors. Nash is a repaint of Gung Ho from the neck down and with a Sonic Boom pair of hands. He usea the same guns as Gung Ho.
Mecha Zangief:
Basically a remake of Zangief in metallic colors with a new head that the Yoga Fire effect can be plugged into.
Sean:
A redeco of Ryu with a new head. Add Ken's come on hand and Victory pose. Extra bubblegum blowing head, Basketball and various Nerf guns.
Theoretically speaking some dolls like Juni and Juli are easy to make. Making Urien would help Gill and Seth to come forward.
At least I'm not asking for a GI Joe x Street Fighter videogame...
